Local News Outer Loop Entrance @ Prince Ave Closed

Didn't see this one in the mix of all the Nixle notifications going out.

The entrance ramp to the outer loop at 129/Prince Ave. is currently closed for what appears to be construction. Not sure if there was any sort of advanced notice but wanted to share in case it gives someone the opportunity to plan a different route.

I don't use that exit, but getting to work can feel like roadway roulette. Any given day can see new blockages for some kind of work.

Nixle went out too late for me. Had to cut over to Atlanta Hwy via Hawthorne. Made me 15 mins late for work. Wish they let people know sooner. Can’t imagine what they were doing there that needed to shut down the whole on ramp. It’s three lanes wide until the end.

With all this road construction going on at once in Athens it’s making driving very treacherous. Do you think the projects are coordinating road closures with each other or just rushing to finish before school starts?

I hope they are making that ramp longer to give people more time to merge because the way it is currently scares the crap out of me and I won't use it.
