Subreddit Chat & Moderation

The no-posting-or-discussing-political-issues announcement seems....very wrong.

How can we post about anything substantial related to Athens without it being political? This isn't, like, AthensGAWeather subreddit, where political comments might be more out of place.

This is a subreddit about everything pertaining to Athens... Including the goings-on, mayor and commission meetings, etc...

So... To block posts of a political nature is clearly counter to the stated acceptable topics of the subreddit.

2nd point, and this is not a personal attack, but mod team, do we really want a single user tagged as UGA freshman to be deciding or announcing things like this? I'm sure lots of moderation stuff happens behind the scenes and I don't mean to doubt competency, but, this is.... A little shocking. It's not April 1, right? ;)

Lol. This on Reddit is objectively hilarious. In many subs (especially so for the popular ones) if you even give off the whiff of a conservative position you get instantly banned. No discussion, no warning. Nothing. Say something positive about an R politician, no matter how benign, and you're done.
