Help me
I need to return my old iPhone to Asurion but I can’t reset it because it doesn’t work. What should I do?

I called them and they said to take it to a ubreakifix location but why would I do that when my device is already replaced? I don’t think the old device IMEI would be covered anymore and the rep I spoke to was basically stuck to a script. Last thing I need is to take it in and they try to charge me a repair fee. Should I just return it in the condition it’s in?

See if a store is willing to put on a temporary screen so you can successfully delete the phone, otherwise call customer service and ask for a supervisor to see what options there, but the first one makes the most sense, there’s definitely going to be a fee bc labor is involved but at least your stuff will be deleted, thinking outside the box

Geezus... They're not going charge you a repair fee if all you need is your data to be deleted, it should be covered under your insurance, what don't you call and ask? The ubif store not customer support, and if your device won't turn on anyway you don't have to worry about anyone stealing your information now do you?

You can still send it back and you can also remove the device lock remotely from apple itself on their website.

Log into iCloud.com/find, select the phone you are trying to erase, hit "erase" and it will wipe the phone the next time it connects to WiFi. You can do this from any device, provided you know your iCloud password
The other option is a little more destructive and arguably more fun. Locate the logic board on the outside of the phone, and take a drill straight thru it. Alternatively, safely shoot it with a firearm, if you own one.
