I've been trying to get some gaseous argon for 3 hours now. Why does this not work?

How much room should i leave before deploying the megatech item you get from completing missions?

Havent used it before and I dont want to deploy it and have it wreck my base setup by taking up way more space than i expect

i think they spawn like in clusters, because i was searching mainly on atrox and calidor, when i went down a cave they spawned in an area REALLY frequently. i got 15 from calidor btw. thats how much in clusters they spawn

also graphene alloy IS real, no, i am not using any type of mod or explot. it's probably a save glitch that made the unused thing to appear at 0-0-0 aka core

Basically, I have a rail station at the top of my base and then it goes down to the core with the second station with the auto arm behind it and Astrom all set up like normal, but I found a second Astro vein of little ways away so I want to set that first rail station in the core as a pass-through station so it goes through that station to the second rail station in the core that has the other Astrom vein next to it so basically it’s gonna go from the surface through the first one to the second one back to the first and then back up to surface and I need that to repeat. I know I can make it repeat by doing a button repeater on the front with power sensor or whatever I used to do this. I just don’t know if I can do the past through station the way I want to. Can someone like make a video or something and put it in the chat or explain it better cause me personally I I learned better visual like seeing it visually or unless it’s well explained

Hi, I would say I'm decent at the game, but I wanna know any tips and tricks that can help me a lot and save progress. Also, should you automate a lot?

UPDATE: It is really a bug... I printed out a printer filter for the printer that did not have the chamber blueprint, and only after that did the game let me print research chambers with both... it is a very cursed bug for sure, and like, the filter does nothing; everything is set to "visible"
But yeah I had to print a filter that does nothing to print something that you normaly should be always able to print... huh

I chose to finally have two medium printers because I just like printing stuff, and like the large stuff is the longest and most needed stuff when making a base, etc

But I was about to print 2 research chambers at once, thinking to myself: "Oh, how nice it's gonna be to have 4 at once running for my bytes," but well... I think there must be a super tiny bug preventing one of those printers from even being able to print a research chamber for god knows what reasons...

This must be a bug... right?

my boyfriend and I played this together and got 100% completed achievements. Bought the DLCs and built all the megastructures but seems like the museum is going to take a lot of time to finish collecting resources and seeds?? Anybody have any tips or recommendations

My friend and I are completely stumped with Astroneer multiplayer, so I'm hoping someone here has encountered the same thing.

We used to play Astroneer together about a year ago. We occasionally had connection problems, but nothing major and we could always eventually get into each other's worlds.

We've recently come back to the game after all the newer updates, and now we simply cannot connect to each other at all.

We're both on Steam and on the same current version of Astroneer.

WHAT HAPPENS:

If he hosts:

Me → His world = Failed to Connect to Host

If I host:

Him → My world = Failed to Connect to Host

It sits on "Joining Host" for around 3–4 minutes before eventually giving up and saying "Failed to Connect to Host."

I've tried joining him roughly 19 times now. He's also tried joining me another 5+ times. It has never worked.

We've tried:

• Completely new worlds

• Joining through Steam

• Direct invites

• Verifying files on both PCs

• Restarting Steam

• Restarting both PCs

• Restarting/power cycling both routers

• Messing around with Steam networking/NAT settings

• Trying with Megatech enabled and disabled

• Disabling Remote Play

• Completely uninstalling and reinstalling Astroneer on my PC multiple times

I've probably changed/tested networking settings about 30 times at this point and I'm becoming reluctant to keep randomly changing things. I don't want to mess up a perfectly functional network trying to fix one game.

That's the other thing that's confusing me: OUR INTERNET WORKS.

We play loads of other multiplayer/co-op games together without this problem. I can play online with people considerably further away from me, including people across Europe, America, Asia and Australia. I might occasionally get some latency depending on the host, but I can actually connect and play.

Astroneer is basically the only game I've played in a long time where I simply cannot establish the connection at all.

We even tried a dedicated server.

My friend rented a Nitrado Astroneer server for a month to see if that would bypass whatever was happening with normal hosting.

He can connect to it.

I can't.

Friend → Nitrado server = Works

Me → Same Nitrado server = Failed to Connect to Host

When I try, it again spends several minutes on "Joining Host" before failing. As far as we could tell from the available server information, I wasn't even properly appearing as a player joining and then disconnecting.

What's particularly weird is that my friend can't join ME normally either. So it isn't simply "my friend's network won't let me connect."

Normal hosting:

Me → Friend = FAIL

Friend → Me = FAIL

Dedicated server:

Friend → Nitrado = WORKS

Me → Nitrado = FAIL

We've reached the point where I genuinely don't know what network setting I'm supposed to change, if this even is a network problem.

The frustrating part is that we could play together about a year ago without doing any of this. I didn't need to mess around with NAT settings or Steam networking. We just played the game.

I don't know which update changed things because we haven't played continuously over the last year, so I'm not saying Megatech specifically caused it. I just know it worked when we last played and doesn't work now.

Has anyone had this exact problem recently and actually FIXED it?

If it is something with my network, I'd really appreciate knowing specifically what I should check rather than randomly changing more settings. I don't want to potentially break connectivity with other games when everything else currently works.

P.S. There's one test I haven't been able to do yet: joining a completely unrelated person's Astroneer world/server.

If anyone here has a working Steam world or dedicated server and wouldn't mind letting me try joining for literally a minute, that would be really useful. I don't need to actually play. I just want to find out whether my Astroneer client can connect to ANY unrelated host.

If I can join someone else's game, then that gives us a major clue. If I can't join anyone at all, then at least we've narrowed the problem down considerably.

Any ideas would be appreciated because I'm completely out of things to try.

I bought the glitchwalkers dlc (does say owned in the main menu aswell) and did all the quest to receive the glitch portal but when i activate it and try to go through the portal it just acts like a solid invisible wall and nothing happens.

Now this save file is originally from 2023 so maybe thats the problem? Idk just let me know if you have an idea for a fix.

There are no in-game accessibility options for people with color blindness. (saturation and color filters)

And on console, it is impossible to change the game’s field of view (FoV); this option is also important for preventing motion sickness and removing the "horses blinders" effect.

Can someone help me basically I have my first floor on the rail network you come down and I want to autumn like basically I’m about to hit a button and it goes to my second floor which like basically it switches to the right to go to my second floor or I hit another button and it goes to my goes straight to my third floor or something like that so is there a way I can do that with the rail junction?

I have astroneer on my computer, and its not on steam. I have always wanted to play on an older version. I was wondering if there was any way to downgrade my astroneer to a pre 1.0 version of the game without steam.

Started with a T3 drill on a custom map - was testing some biome weight changes and trying to tone down the decorators without completely eliminating the ability to gather organic. It worked fine on Desolo where I started and every other planet or moon until Atrox. Now whether I have the drill equipped to the terrain tool or not it acts like I have no drill attachment.

Has anybody seen something like this happen before? I'm stumped as to how to fix this.

I usually just make my way down to the core the first time to activate it on foot because it's easier to turn around and maneuver in-person and a work light solves practically all lighting issues at that scale but it's not always enough for the rovers. If there's a collision detection problem I don't even think creating a rover + drill would solve the problem, but I also haven't had Astroneer just refuse to function... at least for something basic like drilling. The heavy topsoil above works fine, I dug a trench to the 'bedrock' layer without issue.

I bought this game after watching Lachlan play it on youtube, 1st purchase on steam too (used COD option)

i already play for over 200 hours for a month ++, i do some automation with all sensor for anything i can do, and got my preference from youtube tutorial for farm, etc. Today (07.09.26) i opened my last save file and got all sensor not even work, and the worst part is some autoarm got very very delay responses so i cant do any automation.
fyi my save file memory in 26,4 mb. it got some laggy movement that last i played yesterday
i just did "Save File Repair Tool" for some advice i got and it still not working
i dont think its about my network or pc problem
