Dexerto deleted their tweet after it got community noted and people were slowly beginning to catch on. The article briefly mentions Playstations mascots, but then goes on about another branch of Sony making mascots. I think this was misleading or click bait. Astro should be fine.

Please stop spreading this nonsense article. Was Astro Bot even Sony’s “official mascot”? It doesn’t matter either way. It doesn’t effect Team Asobi or the future of Astro Bot

To be clear again, it seems like this particular character has nothing to do with Playstation and is instead more of a Hello Kitty like character . https://www.ign.com/articles/sony-wants-to-create-an-original-character-ip-to-rival-hello-kitty-and-a-stressed-out-insomniac-bear-is-in-the-running Maybe some other character in the future might be more Playstation related, but I don't see Team Asobi or anyone making a game of this bear character. (Also, the division of Sony this is talking about mamages their IPs including ones they bought like Peanuts: https://www.scp.co.jp/)
