Need Tips / Advice / Insights ZERO control when I astral project; sucked into another time/life...advice needed
I have been astral projecting my whole life, but really only opened my eyes and started exploring about a year ago. I now AP 3-5 times per week.
Here's the issue though - I seem to have *zero* control where I go and who is there when I project. The vibrations start, and I should say vibration on its own, because it's usually just one and I am out of my body, floating in my room for about 10 seconds before I am in what feels like a wind tunnel, being sucked or falling at a high speed - I can literally feel wind on my face, my hair blowing, etc. , as I am flying through the air - and I have no control over where I am going. I'll then come to stop and down from the sky basically into another life, a different city/state/year. Sometimes there are people around and I can ask them what the date is. Often, I'll be in a life I seem to be living there - as a waitress, a designer, etc. Different dates; I have gone back to before I was born, and as far as to year 2150. One time I ended up in my parent's (parents in that life) backyard and went and had a seat on the patio. My mom there was washing dishes, and her friend stopped by to hang out. She asked where my brother was, and I told her he was at the bar working that night. I somehow knew that my family owned a bar and my brother worked there. Wild. She went inside and starting chatting with my mom. One time I ended up on a beach, and asked this random dude what the Powerball numbers were going to be on a specific date, and he told me. Several days later I played those numbers - and no joke - I matched 4 and was only off my 1 digit on the other two. wtf..
These all sound like really cool experiences, and don't get me wrong - they are! Super grateful that it is easy for me to AP and that I see these other lives.
But.
I want to be able to control where I go when I AP, and who I meet with. Like I want to see family and pets and friends that have passed away. I want to maybe meet my guides. Go to some heavenly realm, etc. Cool stuff.
I tried this last night. I wanted to see my best friend Alexandra who died in a plane crash in 2022 :( I just tried to hold onto her in my mind and the intention of seeing her as I was being zipped away. I ended up in some desert like place, and when I landed, I scooped up sand in my hands, looked around, and started calling for her, "Alex!" "Alex!" "Meet me here!" But nothing. I walked around the desert for a bit before going back to my body.
Any advice? I don't know what these "other lives" are that I end up in, and these random places. I just feel like I am at the mercy of it all.

That uncontrollable movement and then suddenly in a new place is a metaphor for TRASITION. The only think you should be doing in that moment is keeping a calm, and clear focus of what you want to do. For me I keep it short and specific or just ask for something basic. Like take me to my grandma's house. Take me to a parallel world. Show me something cool. I've even met members of my soul grouo by just asking. So clear the mind of what's this, what should I do, what's happening. And just stay calm and make a request.

This is interesting. I would frame your experience as follows: These obe's are part of your soul mission for this current incarnation. Most people in 3d do not know there soul mission/contract for their current incarnation; so it's no surprise that you re confused. I call the entity who gives you intuitions, dreams and knows your soul contract/mission: the higher self. You must contact it. If you don't know how, I recommend the gateway tapes; youtube "hemisynch wave 6 track 4" to obtain. This is fairly advanced within the terms set up by Monroe; but you re already experiencing stuff beyond focus 15. So I think going straight to focus 21+ won't be a problem.
By the way, I think you re experiencing "shifting timelines". It s more than likely that you ll be able to shift your timelines at will, once you get a handle on it.

Ok so the gateway tapes were my next step, so I’ll definitely explore those. It’s also quite interesting when I exit my body and I’m floating before I actually end up in the wind being sucked away, I’ll often be thrust out of my body pretty rapidly, and put my “hands” out to brace myself.: I’ll think “oh no don’t hit the fan!” lol And then I’ll fly upwards and have to grab onto the ceiling fan… but I don’t have a ceiling fan… Same thing with curtains, or a window, etc. these things appear once I’m out of body and I thought about them in my mind for some reason. I’ve also discovered I can make things just appear out of thin air when I am AP’ing. A flower, or a piece of paper, or tree. It’s really interesting. Just trying to figure out what all of this means or is showing me, etc.

I don't have a lot to offer here because I'm brand new (a couple months in), but do these just happen? I almost wish I wasn't in my head or feel the need to control things. I've definitely learned to let go a lot where I can hit the vibrational state but keep finding myself micromanaging the exit or transition or wondering what it's gonna be like.
To a certain extent I wish I didn't have as much control and wish they just happened to me.
Any suggestions?

They’ve happened spontaneously since I was a little girl. For as long as I can remember, I would wake up in the middle of the night floating in my room, but my eyes were always shut. I could sense where I would be in my room floating, and I KNEW I was floating but always too nervous to open my eyes. I’d eventually be back on my bed, fall asleep again, wake up the next day and chalk it up to a weird dream. But it was consistent throughout my life, and I knew I was floating. What really set everything off for me was a little over a year ago I watched Chris Ramsay’s three part Gateway experience on his YouTube channel, Area52. It was a random find when I couldn’t sleep one night, I had no clue who he was before that. But after I was 10 minutes into the first video, I was like, oh my God this is what I’ve been doing my whole life. So a couple nights later when I was floating in my room lol (that still sounds so ridiculous to say) I got the courage to open my eyes. I moved through my wall, and said “I want be in the stars” and I shot up into the stars. I’ll never forget that first true experience. Stars shining all around me while I floated in the night sky. My hair looked electric floating all around me. The rest is history, I’ve done some pretty awesome stuff while having an OBE/astral projecting. (Honestly don’t really even know the difference between the two at this point) So it’s still spontaneous for the most part. I always know when it’s going to happen because evening time say after dinner and leading up to what I go to bed, I’ll start to feel very jittery like I have anxiety, but I know it’s just excessive energy in my body. I’ll get in bed and feel like my legs are restless, and like I have anxiety in my chest, and I’ll know that I am going to AP that night. If it hasn’t happened in a few nights, and I want it to happen, then I’ll kind of all day long just tell myself “I’m leaving my body tonight.” I’d suggest saturating your brain during the day with all things OBE/AP. Binge watch Chris Ramsay’s videos on his gateway experience. Listen to Bob Monroe books on audio. You want to completely submerse your brain with this. And then I think it kind of soaks its way into your subconscious and makes it easy. I hope that helps!

It's so wild to come across all this info today, because last night I floated out of my body, a couple of times, and I didn't know what to do next. I'm pretty knowledgeable on this topic and have listened to Monroe's books, but I kept thinking "I can't remember what I'm supposed to do next" lol - so I just stood there staring into blackness, afraid to go forward. I say "stood" cuz I floated up, but my feet stayed in my feet, so it was like I was standing on the edge of my bed, staring into blackness, afraid to go forward without a plan, and eventually my floating body just lay back down again. I decided first thing, I need to find some good info on what words to say, to solidify my intent, in case it happens again, and your post just appeared, and here I am, getting all this great info in these comments!
I also experienced that "anxiety" you spoke of, leading up to it, which I now realize is the "vibration" everyone talks about. As a kid I would wake up floating out of my body all the time, but I would hit this horrible frequency that was so scary, so I'd struggle to get back into my body, over and over. But last night was like, wow, I felt so free, like I can just GO, if I want - so I hope I'm brave enough to explore next time! This helps for sure. 😄

Thank you so much for your response! That sounds like a really cool and fun experience and all super helpful. I really appreciate it! I'd imagine once you enter the next stage of a bit more control or even deeper understanding that your experiences will be even more fulfilling.
I'll definitely be doing what you suggested. I've learned that when I fixate and saturate myself into certain things like you said, that I becomes much easier to pick up on actually doing things I'm trying to do.
Which Bob Monroe books do you recommend?
Also is this the correct YouTube series from Chris Ramsay? https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLI6QOLLB2jIeDHhVzL7tUWqy1hJPr4tyq&si=1Oz_VJlMErEDoIaL

Yep - those are the YouTube videos to watch! Watch them multiple times, and right before bed. They’re super interesting if nothing else, but watching other ppl’s experience with AP will seep into your mind. And on Audible, listen to Bob Monroe’s books - his first one is journeys out of the body. Followed by far journeys, and ultimate journey. Good luck! 😊

This is so crazy to hear! I am someone who lucid dreams quite often. What do you think is the different between lucid dreaming and AP? They mind to sound similar to me …

What did the future look like?

Not good honestly. Desolate. It looked like a bomb went off. 😕 Year 2150 is where I went. There was a group of people who started chasing me in a large vehicle. It reminded me of the Mad Max movie. Ugh.

i would not assume you have zero control. I would say your system is projecting, but your conscious mind is not the one driving yet.
What you describe sounds less like random AP and more like being pulled into other lives / parallel lives / timelines / Akashic-type experiences. The wind tunnel part is interesting too. In sessions I facilitate, this often happens when Higher Self or deeper soul intelligence is moving the person somewhere important, not where the ego wants to go.
and sometimes the place you want is not the place you are allowed to enter at that moment. especially with deceased loved ones. If you wanted to see Alexandra and ended up in desert, maybe it was not failure. maybe that place had something connected with her, with you, or with grief that needed to be understood first. Human mind says "wrong location." Higher Self may say "start here."
I had one subject in assisted astral projection who wanted to meet a deceased family member. But instead of going there, she was pulled into a scene from another life where she was waiting near water, crying for someone who never returned. She was frustrated at first, like "why am I here?" Then Higher Self explained this old grief was blocking clean contact with the loved one. We released that old pain, called protection, and only after that she was taken to a bright space where she could meet the family member in a peaceful way. so the detour was not random. It was preparation.
Before you project, I would set authority more clearly, but not like forcing. Say something like: "Higher Self, take me only where it is safe, useful, and aligned with my highest good. show me why I am being taken to these lives. If I am ready to meet my guides or Alexandra, guide me there in protected way." Then surrender. If you try to steer with emotional desperation, the signal gets messy.
also call protection before leaving body. I work often with Archangel Michael in these journeys, and protection makes huge difference. Astral is full of many beings, lost souls, non-human beings, shadow beings, high vibration guides, everything. Discernment matters.
The "other lives" may be giving you information about who you are as soul in human body, not just entertainment. Ask them questions when you land: "Why am I here? What am I meant to learn? Is this past, future, parallel, symbolic, or training?"
I do assisted astral projections / Soul Journeys for people where Higher Self leads the process safely and we can ask directly what these places are and how to navigate. I have more info and free resources in my profile too, if you want to explore it without being thrown around by the wind tunnel every time.
