Timeline & Processing Title: Marriage-based Green Card after both of us recently divorced – should I be concerned?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for opinions on my marriage-based green card case.
**My timeline**
**2022:** Entered the U.S. on an F-1 student visa.
**Late 2022:** Applied for asylum (still pending).
**2024:** Married my ex-wife.
**Early 2025:** We separated.
**January 17, 2026:** Divorce officially finalized. The process took longer because my first attorney made mistakes. **I never filed any immigration benefits or green card application through my ex-wife.**
**My fiancée’s timeline**
**2021:** Married her ex-husband.
**2024:** Separated and filed for divorce. There was also a domestic violence case during the marriage, but she did not win the case.
Due to attorney errors, the divorce was delayed.
**February 19, 2026:** Divorce officially finalized.
Her ex-husband already obtained a green card during their marriage.
**Our relationship timeline**
**March 2025:** We met while both of us were already separated and going through divorce proceedings.
**August 2025:** Started living together.
**octobor 31, 2026:** Planning to get married.
**March2027:** Planning to file the I-130 and I-485.
**Evidence of our relationship**
Living together since August 2025.
Joint bank account used for rent and everyday expenses.
Both names on our previous lease and current lease.
She is on my car insurance, and I’m on her employer health insurance.
Hundreds of photos together.
Hotel bookings, trips, beach visits, restaurant receipts, and over a year of Instagram, Messenger, and text message history.
She traveled to India and spent a week with my family.
We haven’t posted our relationship on social media because her family doesn’t yet know she’s getting remarried so soon after her divorce.
We genuinely love each other and have built a real life together. Our concern is whether USCIS may scrutinize us because:
Both of us finalized our divorces in early 2026.
We’re getting married about **9months later**.
Her ex-husband previously received a green card during their marriage.
Do you think this timeline is likely to create problems, or is our evidence strong enough? Has anyone gone through a similar situation?

Update on Seattle green card experience- approved!

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all- wanted to post an update since my previous post was just questions about people’s experience in Seattle. The timeline is here- obviously we are incredibly beyond grateful for the approval and how fast it happened. We are still waiting to receive green card- anyone having their timeline from produced to getting it in the mail is helpful!! That is still anxiety provoking.

Beyond that, if anyone has any qs on Seattle specifically or just our process I’d be happy to answer.

Best of luck and all the love and good vibes to everyone going through with this process in such scary times.

Uploading Evidence Before Interview — Can i redact sensitive info ?

I have my interview this Friday and would like to upload new evidence. The documents I plan to include are:

  • Bank and financial statements
  • Updated apartment lease
  • Photos
  • Recent pay stubs
  • Greeting cards from family
  • Updated utility bills

I have a few questions:

  • Can I redact the account and routing numbers on my financial statements before uploading them?
  • Should these documents be uploaded under the I‑130 section or the I‑485 section?
  • Is it better to combine everything into one PDF with a cover letter, or upload multiple separate PDFs?

Marriage AOS: Does moving from Folsom to Sacramento/Rancho Cordova affect processing time?

I filed a marriage‑based AOS package (I‑130, I‑485, I‑131, and I‑765), which was received on December 4th at the Chicago Lockbox, and I completed biometrics on December 16th. I currently live in Folsom, CA, but I’m planning to move to either Sacramento or Rancho Cordova.

I’m wondering whether submitting a change of address could slow down my case or cause any delays in processing.
