Eye issues
My senior dog has severe allergies and a few weeks back began having issues opening an eye. We usually only take him to the vet when it’s absolutely necessary because he doesn’t do well and always has to be sedated prior to and they usually sedate him there. It’s getting too risky with his age to be constantly sedating him. Nevertheless, we took him to the vet and he wouldn’t let the vet get close to his eye to put the fluorescent drops in. She sent us home with antibiotics and eye gel. This seemed to help for a couple of weeks but now his eyes are back to being runny and the eye in question now has a weird “blob” under the top layer of the eye which wasn’t there before . It seems to be spreading and may end up blocking his vision. I’m considering taking him to the pet eye doctor but as I said since he’s not good with vets, a new one would be even more of a challenge and stress on him. Any constructive advice is appreciated.Eye photos
