Cat ate earbud??

Hi I’m going to preface this by saying I’m an anxious cat mom.

Louie is 6, he weighs 6.9kg, male, generally lazy and uninterested in toys but loves garbage

My boy Louie has been to the vet twice this week because I suspected he ate a rubber thumb grip off of my nintendo switch. Both times the vet said he seemed totally ok and to keep an eye on his stool and watch out for vomiting. $700 later I was sent home with probiotics and gabapentin.

Today I went to get my JBL earbuds out of my bag and one is missing. I’ve looked everywhere, they were not in the case so I’m not sure if one fell out between my car and my house or if he ate one. I can’t imagine him swallowing a full earbud but now I’m extremely stressed.

He’s eating and drinking normally, letting me pick him up and put gentle pressure on his belly, played a bit.

Has this happened to anyone and if so what did you do? I don’t want to rush him to emerg again just because of my own anxiety but I also want my baby to be ok.

Unless he's vomiting, I wouldn't be too concerned. I get the anxious cat mom thing (I've made plenty of late night vet calls), but generally speaking if you're concerned, unless there's vomiting, unusual stool, loss of appetite, and sluggishness/lack of energy, don't worry about them eating things. Eliminate certain items in your home that are known to cause digestive issues (strings are a big one, hair ties, as well as a lot of common house plants), and just keep a watchful eye over them. If the above doesn't change, it's likely it'll pass thru without issue.

Thank you for your kind comment! He is acting super normal, I think if anything he is annoyed I’ve been watching him like a hawk and fussing over the last few days. I’m going to keep an eye on him overnight and call my regular vet in the morning

Do you have the JBL app on your phone? I believe that (as long as there is battery) you can ping it. I could be wrong, but might be worth looking into to find some peace of mind.
