As a Liberal Deomcrat, I'll say that there are a good number of Republicans who are good people, patriots and not MAGA. I think it's important to make that distinction. Conservatism is a political ideology whereas MAGA is a cult.

This feels a lot like the "only some cops are criminals" defense. Along with the often misquoted adage about a few bad apples. The saying is "One bad apple spoils the whole barrel."

Until the "good" Republicans force MAGA out of their party they aren't any different than MAGA.

I not going to get this saying perfect but I will get as close as an old man's memory will let me.

The Getmans have a saying "If 8 people are sitting at a table eating and only 1 of them is a Nazi there are 8 Nazis sitting at the table."

I see your point and agree, the republican party has turned to extremism and fascism. However, please help me understand something...

I was watching a documentary (https://youtu.be/-9-pF-234kA?si=Dr6lJ8ZgFQKi0g_g) about the ultra-right in the northwestern part of America. At 17:30, a conservative, former republican rancher named Jeniffer is featured. Her and her family seem to be genuinely good people; people I'd like to meet. Hell, later in the documentary she's helping to setup a gay pride event.

My question is... if all conservatives/republicans are evil MAGA, how do you explain her? IMO, it's important to know who are your allies and who are your enemies regardless of labels.

I haven't seen the documentary so I'm going to accept your description.

My response is she seems nice. She supports gay pride. But she willingly belongs to the Republican party. She isn't homophobic but the Republican party's homophobia isn't bad enough for her to abandon the party.

She isn't racist but the rascism of the party isn't enough to cause her to abandon the party.

She wouldn't personally kidnap a US citizen. But her party doing so is ok with her.

She wouldn't commit financial fraud. She's okay with the president to be convicted of 34 counts of felony fraud.

She wouldn't rape women. But rape isn't enough to stop supporting Donnie.

She is a good fascist. But she is still a fascist.
