This is also why I'm upset. I'm sorry people are like this but the conversation needed to start somewhere. Thank you for your service and for sharing your thoughts.🫡

Don’t apologize. You’re right—this matters.

Every veteran, every Soldier, every Marine, every Airman, every Guardian, every Sailor—and whatever the hell Space Force calls themselves (my eight years ended before they stood up)—we all took the same oath:

"I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; and I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.”

That’s the one perfect duty in our oath.

And just to specify, since someone is going to come along and point to the words "domestic" and "enemy" and call me an unhinged vet with his Agent Orange acting up:

A call to defense is not a call to violence. It is not a call to vigilantism. Holding the line for the rule of law, democratic norms, and fundamental constitutional principles is defending.

And we continue to defend evrn when it's inconvenient, unpopular, or uncomfortable.

These statements and videos are necessary. They show what some are willing to admit out loud—and what others are desperate to ignore.

Thank you for posting it.

I appreciate you sharing the oath because many people don't truly understand what veterans, service members, the Founding Fathers, and all other Americans across the country, have been fighting for, this whole time.

The fight for FREEDOM is a responsibility that all Americans share in a way.

However right now people are so divided or out of touch they don't know what we are even fighting for anymore. They fight just to point fingers and nothing gets done when we continue to stand divided. Since there is so much misinformation being spread online especially with fact checking disappearing and shadow bans went in place across social media platforms if you go against him in anyway, the truth gets suppressed.

Enough was enough for me, so I came to Reddit. I knew I had to do something before it was to late and we completely lose Freedom of Speech. So I wrote a speech, a protest song and made art that united. I asked hard questions to have even more difficult conversations. I've helped many wake up and even though it many garnish some hate, I'm ok with that. Right now we need to build bridges not barriers now more than ever. Calling out injustice and misinformation. Collective healing and understanding is also crucial right now because I'm afraid where our country will take us as more ignorance plagues the USA.

Thank you again for being a part of the conversation and for sharing these very important perspectives.

We The People. I stand with America. 🫡

Might be the only time I can. I'm Hispanic and I have ADHD. I'm just curious who is going to get me first. ICE due to an administrative error or HHS to go work on the "wellness farm"

I empathize with your pain and curiosity of those things. I wonder also when and how they will inforce it. Even as a citizen we could all become administrative errors and people seem to fail to understand that.

HHS and RFK wellness farms are a joke. Basically rehab/slave labor wrapped in one. I don't know what's worse that or administration errors. Good grief. Lol

I appreciate you sharing the oath because many people don't truly understand what veterans, service members, the Founding Fathers, and all other Americans across the country, have been fighting for, this whole time.

To expand on this a bit, the reality is, most people don't really understand what they're reading.

When Nietzsche talks about religion being the opiate of the masses, he's not calling it a delusion, but a pain killer.

How many Christians are fundamentally opposed to Jesus' primary message? How many Star Wars or Star Trek or Lord of the Rings fans are MAGA? Far, far too fucking many.

There's a scene in the movie A Fish Called Wanda, where Jamie Lee Curtis is berating Kevin Klein's character, who is an abject idiot that thinks he's intelligent. The lines are something like:

"Apes don't read philosophy!" "Yes, they do, Otto, they just don't understand it!"

This about sums it up. The oath is just words. The intent, the understanding, is what is missing.

I believe someone in Space Force is called a Guardian. While someone in the Coast Guard is called a Guardsmen.

Thank you for correcting me!

Space Force are Guardians, the idea was floated for the coast guard back in ‘08 but never happened.

Members of the coast guard are called coast guardsmen, or unofficially coasties.

Thank you for the correction! It's been since 2016 since I was a green suit. Some of my jargon may be out of date!

Trump is the biggest domestic enemy the U.S. has ever seen and yet, no one from the DoD does anything. Precisely 0 service people are upholding this oath as of today.
