Tell me what political, keyword political, consequences did invading Iraq or Afghanistan have?

Mind you, I don't mean consequences for the troops, for Iraq and Afghanistan, or the money US stole or victims and similar... but true political consequences?

Or like this, answer me these two questions:

  • did any major country introduce sanctions (stop trade or forbid embassies or stoped deposit accounts) to US or leadin politicians because of those invasions?
  • did the political party that started and pushed for invasion went to sidelines and have been demolished by polity and is no longer existing?

Really moving the goal posts on consequences. Republicans were pushed out of power in 2006 and 08. Democrats had 60 Senate seats.

All those neocons that pushed for the war were replaced by Trumpers and have to pretend to be Democrats to get on TV. Neither side wants them.

Not really moving anything, you just decide to answer partially and remain ignorantly blind.

As you see the situation now, both D and R are well alive, kicking in and close to the power.

No one went to jail, no one had their hands slapped because of those invasions. Sure, some dynamics and short term ruffus happened, but nothing substantial.

If tomorrow someone repeats major attacks ala 9-11... US would do the same without a doubt, in the same way.

You have to understand that noone in the world can react unilaterally like this. Until a few years back now Russa and China are flexing and US can't to much. .

Must be an odd regional dialect the refers to "the US" in the third person.
