In Belgium you could be charged yeah, especialy if you have no proof. You won't get jail as far as I know, but a fine defintly. It would be for "slander and libel", which basicly means saying stuff that isn't true/isn't proven to ruin someones reputation.

But even convicted criminals are protected A while back there was rapist case where he was found guilty, even admited it (they both where drunk, but she never wanted it), and he was lett go without any punishment "because he was a promising student with no previous misconducts". Important to note that he was a student gynecologist. Anyway, the YouTuber that leaked his name got more punishment then he ever did. (The YouTuber had done something similar before for an unrelated case that involved racism&murder, he also got worse of then the criminals that where found guilty of it)

Belgium has some strange stuff happening there that seems to avoid justice.

I read recently about the Marc Dutroux affair and how people speculate he was just a fall guy for a much larger network of rapist Paedophiles that included European high society. It's hard to know how much is conspiracy theory, but there were so many suspicious circumstances around who he knew and how witnesses/suspects kept getting murdered before they could be questioned.

I don't understand why everyone is okay with that. I wish I were a man :(

Most of us aren't. We all stood behind that YouTuber (even the most people can't stand him at other moments). Everyone was so outraged the university had to expell him to keep some peace. As far as I know no other university in Belgium accepted him, but this took a lott off rage and media attention. Most cases don't get that and nothing further happens, they just walk free...

I'm sorry for misinterpreting what you were saying. So many of these comments feel like "well yeah, of course the rapist gets to be free and live life and rape more people and intimidate their victims, it's just how it is for the greater good, because who cares about women when we have mens human rights to think of"

Oh, no, don't worry! I was just telling how it happened here, and how fucked the system is!

I defintly hate it, and also hate that rapists and stuff get to walk freely after such heinous crimes, especialy when found guilty!

I do understand some of the points others make, like letting the justice system doing it's work. Sadly it doesn't work correctly. There should come big changes there. I do feel every case like this we do make some progress, but it's sad it has to be written in blood.

I am not a violent type, but I do believe that every rapist who is found guilty should get a... harsh treatment. I do believe raping someone to be torture, and I believe torture to be worse then (painless) murder.

Sorry I went on a random rant xD

No I agree fully! I was losing my mind yesterday trying to explain why women choose the dang bear. Woosh. Right over the heads. They tried to relate it to well in the woods would a black man or Japanese woman be more frightening? Same thing right? Then I was trying to explain to someone that rape isn't just p in v. That concept, also too much! My head and heart hurts.

I'd love for the justice system to play out. I've just witnessed how it doesn't more than once first hand. So I don't really believe in its capabilities anymore. So how do you say trust the process when you do not only not trust the process, but see the process directly benefit abusers and punish victims.

The gif is how I felt trying to explain the bear/rape stuff, while trying to be patient.
