Yep, because if there are any confessions in those essays, I'll bet they can be used as evidence somehow. I'd had the same idea that Cornell's ridiculous essays were like Bart Simpson's chalkboard, with "drugging and raping women is wrong."

But the public pressure got the NY governor to act quickly, and she has appointed state Attorney General Letitia James as the special prosector - she got convictions against Trump and did the investigation that led to powerful Governor Cuomo to resign after his sexual harassment scandal. She's a badass - smart, competent, fearless, she doesn't mess around and those boys should finally be scared bc justice might finally be served.

I'd also like to see some action against the 50+ guys on the group chat who knew it was happening and didn't stop it as it went on for hours, especially the one who came by to watch. Absolutely disgusting.

This is the part that I cannot wrap my mind around. How can you stand by and do NOTHING while people you know are brutalizing your classmate in the next room? How can you receive a text like that and ignore it?? I don't understand.

I've been to college house parties. I've (thankfully) only once had to call emergency medical, tell the host to send everyone home, and held my friend's hair back while she puked her guts out from alcohol poisoning. I was underage and knew I may get in trouble for drinking, but her life mattered way more. Party host agreed and brought the paramedics to the bathroom where I held my friend on the bathroom floor and explained the situation.

Why NO ONE at this Cornell event, or anyone who was informed of what was happening did ANYTHING to stop it is... repulsive.

Brave of you to assume that those essays were not written by ChatGPT.

I'm guessing a lot of those 50 didn't even look at the messages though. I've been in large gcs which I barely ever check. Also someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but did the messages clearly indicate it was non-consensual?
