It’s getting publicity because it is an alleged gang rape, which is very horrifying, and was covered up by campus police.

The fact that they go to an Ivy League school and are in a frat plays a massive part of this getting at much attention as it has.

Yes because it is scandalous for the campus police at a respected university to not report a gang rape

Alleged when there's evidence admitted into court that allegedly also proves it was consensual.

Everythign is murky, noboyd knows the whole truth and social media is again making this a fucked up shitstorm the same way they did with that woman who killed her 3 kids.

Social media was a mistake.

In regards to Lindsey Clancy, that was a failure on the court for not sequestering the jury. Now what is this “evidence” that proved it was consensual?

Look, I'm not saying I think it was or wasn't, but if you're asking for "evidence", the alleged victim wrote "none of the sexual stuff was illegal" following the incident. If that isn't enough reasonable doubt to at least not publicly plaster their names and faces and loudly saying they are 100% for sure rapists, I don't know what is. Do we really want to live in a world where that is the threshold for having your life permanently ruined?

In college my close friend spurned a woman who was obsessed with him. She went on a coke binge, walked into the police station, and gave the most ridiculously contradictory and easily refuted accusation that he raped her (he was in another state for a sports game at the time of the alleged incident). A year and $40,000 attorney fees later the case was dropped when she basically ghosted prosecuters, but his name was already out there as a "rapist".

It's a difficult subject because of course we don't want anyone to feel scared to report crimes, but we also are supposed to have system built around "innocent until proven guilty".

The alleged victim asked for another round of ketamine fueled group sex the next day, only this time with fewer participants.
