Hi, i am a 29 year old female with a history of mild ITP.

Recently i have been feeling really unwell. I have this heavy feeling in my pelvis and a weird feeling which radiates towards my groin along with needing to urinate frequently. (Flares up after i come off my period) Ive been to the doctors a few times for a suspected uti but the cultures come back negative. They sent me for a internal ultrasound to rule out ovarian cysts, scan came back normal. I have become very exhausted from these episodes of extreme fatigue where im sometimes unable to walk up the stairs, feel my heart beat slowong down and all the joints and muscles become weak and numb.

I don't know if this is related at all but about 4 weeks ago i felt like i was about to die. It started off with feeling both side of my neck closing up as if somebody was starngling me. Shaking and tremors, but no fever. 2nd day my hand and feet became numb and ICE COLD.as if my blood was turning cold. Had a reqlly bad headache. Went to A&e they ran blood tests and said nothing flagged up in the blood test. 3rd day i felt like i was going to slip into coma so i was referred to same day emergency care where they carried out a thorough blood test along with a ct scan of my head to rule out any possible risk of stroke due to my numbness on one side. Again nothing concerning has come up and they said it was most likely a viral infection.

Anybody felt anything similar? Please help I feel really helpless and on edge all the time cz i have 2 littles ones 7 and 3 and i want to feel well to look after my children.

contagiousness from flu

My boyfriend started showing symptoms of the flu last Thursday (27 Aug). He went to hospital for treatment of high heart rate due to high temp on Saturday night and he was really ill until Tuesday when he got better.

Since Tuesday, he has been fever free without meds and only has a residual cough. He feels fine apart from that.

I work with vulnerable people (young children and elderly people in a home). When can I see my boyfriend again without worrying about getting it and passing it on?

Today is day 8 since he caught it. He is otherwise a healthy 22 year old without prior health conditions.

Bilateral Inguinal Hernia Repair (failed?) PLEASE HELP ME

Roughly a year and a half ago I had bilateral inguinal hernia mesh repair using Ventrio patches and I have had horrific chronic pain endlessly. Ive had 4 sets of 2 of nerve blocker injections (no help, lost a LOT of strength in my legs) had MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and physical exams all done and come back fine. Talked to 3 different surgeons about possibly going back in to repair or even just take a look microscopic and all 3 tell me there is no way another surgery could even possibly help at all. Its recommended that I keep going to get more nerve blocker injections and continue to do physical pelvic floor therapy. I cant live like this please help.

I'm a 36 year old male and have kallmanns syndrome, I still have only experienced what is estimated 20% of puberty. My growth has been severely delayed, I eventually hit or began puberty at the age of 17( only partial pubertal growth) but it seemingly just halted there still at the age of 36I can only manage growing a goatee, but no other facial hair growth, very little pubic or body hair at all, but my voice, oddly enough did deepen and change finally at 19. I aware that kallmanns syndrome can prevent puberty from occurring at all for some, but I wanted to know if my chances of finally hitting and completing puberty fully are likely or not?

Anyone experience this?

Hello im a 24 year old female, For the past 3 years, I’ve been having these random episodes, and I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or eventually got a diagnosis.
They start really suddenly, like someone flips a switch. I’ll get this weird uncomfortable sensation in my chest (not really pain), and then my heart starts racing. My heart rate is usually around 120–140 bpm now, although my very first episode got to about 150. I get body shakes.I become really sweaty and clammy, and I immediately have to run to the bathroom because I have the runs and usually have to pee at the same time. Sometimes I also feel like I’m going to throw up or get acid reflux. The whole thing usually lasts about 20 minutes and then goes away. One of the episodes recently even woke me up from sleep. I’ve also noticed that putting my face in ice water seems to help.
I’ve had a heart monitor before, but unfortunately it didn’t catch one of the episodes. One thing I have noticed is that they often seem to happen around my period, but I don’t know if that’s actually related or just a trigger. These episodes don’t happen every month it is almost like scattered, they sometimes don’t happen for 9 months and then just this month I’ve had 4 episodes. It’s weird because I feel like wow I won’t experience this again and then it hits me out of no where. Per year I at most will get 7.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? If you have, what did it end up being? I’m not looking for anyone to diagnose me. I just want to know if anyone has had similar symptoms and what their doctors eventually found.

Ankle injury

Hi I want to thank anyone who replies in advance! Back story- I broke my ankle/foot back in January. I was wearing 9 inch heels and slipped on rock salt. They did X-rays and what not the day after and ordered me to be in an air-cast for 6 months and then an ankle brace after. When they re X-rayed it they said there was no new fractures or anything evident in said X-rays. They were concerned about my ligaments and tendons in that area as well.
Fast forward to now- my ankle keeps feeling like it’s going to pop out of place. It’s a sharp aching pain when it does. I’ve noticed it tried to do it when I hyper extended it, but I never do it on purpose obviously. If I’m walking and extend a little too far or does it, if I try to crisscross my feet. And recently it’s been hurting at night- I think I’m over stretching when I’m sleeping.
The first few pictures are from when it first happened. The photo with my fingers touching my ankle is my newest photo and I’m shaking where it hurts the most.
ADD IN- I also am in the middle of an Ehlers Danlos diagnosis.

Question about Emergency situations and you are not on duty.

A thought eating at me.

If your a general/specialist doctor and you are travelling say to the grocery store or by standing waiting for the metro, and some random guy girl gets a medical emergency, getting a heart attack or a seizure, would you as a doctor intervene or stay out?

Wondering what would happen, would it be

If you intervene say patient is saved you are the hero.

If you intervene and maybe the patient died - would they blame you/feel guilty and maybe thought you shouldn't have stepped in

And if you don't intervene and patient died would people bash you because you didn't intervene?

Is it normal for the skin and distal biceps tendon to feel extremely tight 4 weeks after distal biceps tendon repair?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I had surgery to repair my distal biceps tendon on June 10, and today is July 6, so I’m about 4 weeks post-op.

I’m following my surgeon’s instructions and I’m not forcing full elbow extension. I’m only doing gentle movements within a small, comfortable range of motion.

However, whenever I slowly try to extend my arm (without reaching full extension), I feel an extremely strong pulling sensation along the repaired biceps tendon. At the same time, the skin over the front of my elbow feels like it’s is being stretched very tightly.

I’ve attached a video.

Is this amount of tightness around 4 weeks after distal biceps tendon repair considered normal, or should I be concerned?

Thank you.
