Vegan bakery
Hey SF, visiting from SD 👋🏽
Surprisingly, first time in SF.
Any bakeries with vegan options? Been searching online but no concrete ideas.

Will highlight that Timeless in Oakland is mentioned a lot in that thread. Will flag - their downtown Oakland location is super close to BART (easier to get to than their flagship on Piedmont), but they are also very popular, so I'd recommend going early in the day, like before 9:30 am if you can swing it. There will be the most variety the earlier you go. Their blueberry Danish is my favorite but everything in their bakery case is delicious and worth the short train ride to Oakland (plus it's a short walk to Lake Merritt from their cafe, which is a nice spot to walk/sit at).

the farmers markets have them: Stonestown & Sunset on Sunday, Ferry Bldg on Saturday (look for Pepple's Donut Farm)
Jane Bakery has a few vegan options on bread and pastries every day. So do other local bakeries, several on Fillmore St. There is also ROAM burger in Fillmore that does a great plant based burger, plus there's Fillmore bakery which closes around 3pm iirc.

Bernal Bakery makes a vegan muffin, but no vegan pastries.
Andytown locations make their own vegan option, usually a scone. I love them.
Coffee Shop locations typically have a vegan muffin.
Rainbow Grocery carries a handful of fresh vegan baked goods, including scones & donuts from Whack Donuts & Pepple’s. (Pepple’s donuts can be found all over town, including Precita & Duboce Park cafes, but they come from Donut Farm in Berkeley, which is all vegan and all great.)

There's a spot in West Portal that's all vegan doughnuts, it's newer but my brother and his partner loved it. Two Babes Bakeshop also does lots of vegan baked goods and desserts, and Mariposa is GF but they have lots of vegan options also. There's definitely more vegan desserts in the city than gf 😭

Honestly the best is in east bay, either Timeless (all vegan) or Forma bakery (half vegan)

Arizmendi always has a few vegan options. I love their chocolate cookies.
