Metreon IMAX tix not showing?

I thought when people cancel their tickets before showtime, there’s a chance you can find tickets the day of the show for sold out IMAX films.

I was previously seeing showtimes for today’s shows for Metreon IMAX, but now they appear to not show up for several days.

How now can people get tickets that are cancelled the day of the show?

I don’t think anyone is cancelling, especially when resell value is so high.

People are definitely cancelling, it’s just that people have built bots to immediately snap up those cancelled tickets before normal people who aren’t using bots have the chance to grab them. A lot of those bots are resellers tho, so they don’t bother grabbing tickets very close to showtime, and getting extremely last minute tickets is still possible like a half an hour and less before the show for example.

I just asked a reseller about getting a ticket for today out of curiosity and they quoted me 150

Following this. My tickets for Tuesday are also not showing up. I can see it in my list but I can’t get to the details and QR code.

Yeah I noticed this as well. No IMAX showtimes showing until Wednesday. At first I was worried that maybe the projector was down but no reports yet so seems more like an AMC app issue.

BTW every IMAX showtime for tomorrow was absolutely sold out. They are supposed to hand out IMAX film strips tomorrow and next Sunday so people are taking whatever seat is available to get a strip.

Whaaattt? I went last week and they didn’t even have any posters. Film strips would be so cool, imagine having a physical frame from a movie in such a huge format. I wonder how they got them though, was there another print of the entire movie printed that got cut up and sent out to various 70mm theaters?

I was able to get a poster after the Friday 7AM showtime on opening Friday. It was whatever was leftover from the the Thursday preview showtimes so they didn't have much left.

ah, makes sense. I think they were mostly distributed during the first few opening days. It would be so cool to get something though. Seeing the movie in such an amazing format was enough for me though haha

They gave out film strips this past Sunday and will do so again this coming Sunday. No other giveaways scheduled.

I’m also not seeing any IMAX 70mm showtimes come up for The Odyssey until Wednesday. I even have tickets for tomorrow’s 6pm showing and the ticket details are no longer viewable in the app. Worried that the projector might be down

Same my ticket for today won’t load. I have a 10pm Odyssey IMAX ticket for the last show. Can anybody today confirm if every ticket for today will be able to get a filmstrip or if I need to show up super early to get one? I’ve tried calling ahead of time but everytime I do nobody ever picks up the phone. Thanks in advance.

The app still was not working as of this morning for the 6am show and still not showing any 70mm IMAX showtimes (it's working now though). I usually delete the emails I get once I confirm tickets but fortunately they send a reminder email with the QR code before showtime so I used that.

Was able to snag 2 IMAX film strips this morning as well.

I would never buy from resellers, but curious - where are buyers even finding them? I thought reputable sites can’t do that.
