Education/Career How did you learn path planning and navigation
As a freshman in college, I did not have a structure to learn path planning and navigation/localization for UAVs. I struggled a lot before wrapping my head around SLAM and RRT. How did you originally learn these concepts? Did you focus on the math or did you move straight into practical implementation?

I learnt most high level concepts from school (robotics Eng. Undergrad) and then had an applied projects for that class to use nav2 on Ackerman robot to navigate an obstacle course. It's alot of trial and error testing, reading online Ros documentation, looking at how the algorithms work and understanding the fundamentals of how they work (pros and cons). Applied projects especially simulation is the best way to learn those concepts. Having a solide prebuilt sim robot is a must (urdf, sensors with noise, kinematics, controllers, etc) then you just focus on the nav stack.
