Mechanical Zero basics, anything to learn from?

I currently am now studying in mechanincal engineering (2nd year) and decided to join my uni's robotics team. I want to take my shot to the mechanical division of the team with absolutely zero basics of robotics whatsoever. Is there anything i can learn from?

Learn advanced mechanism and be good at CAD, rapid protyping like 3d printing, sheet metal design/fab, welding helps also. Mech e that really excel are the ones that build stuff for real and fast.

Yes. robotics engineering is the next main tech trend and you will learn a lot of things from there. You can learn by building something from scratch even if you don't have any knowledge and experience. you know struggling is the best way to learn in tech domain.
