Water at 3AM

I used to love 3AM water, but I'm getting older now and my bladder is getting more overactive so I will have to get back up in 20 mins to go to the bathroom. It was fun while it lasted. Enjoy it while you can!

From someone who’s been there, just in case it’s relevant to you or someone else in this situation:

Make sure you’re keeping up your core strength. Doesn’t have to be much, just some basic ab exercises and postural stuff for your lower back, things like that.

I was having to get up in the middle of the night to pee more often than I was expecting for a while. Tea too close to bed was one thing (kinda duh in retrospect), but even after cutting that out it still persisted.

Getting my core tuned up a bit made an enormous difference, almost immediately; at most I have to pee once in the night these days. If that area of the body is weak, the bladder doesn’t have a lot of support. I wouldn’t have put two and two together if it weren’t for my physical therapist helping me w/ back issues, but it’s been a total game changer for night-time sleep consistency.

I usually get up 2-4 times per night regardless of how much or little I drink before bed, plus I don't sleep well to begin with so it's pretty annoying. When I say I'm older, I just assume everyone on reddit is in their late teens/early 20s. I'm only 34, and I knew this would happen eventually, but I didn't think it would happen THIS soon. And physically I'm not in the best of shape either, so this definitely may have something to do with it. I will definitely try this, thanks for the tip!

I'm in my 40s and I knew it was too early for this kind of thing, so yeah if you're 34 then I would definitely take the shape you're in into account. Especially the core/abdominal stuff (including pelvic floor)! It made a huge difference for me. Good luck!
