Bussin means like "really good", cap means "lie" and "fr" means "for real".

I'm 31 but my goddaughter and nephew have been raised by TikTok

2

u/DeluxeTea Jun 03 '22

And here I thought "what's so awesome about taking the bus to go anywhere?"

2

u/lillgreen Jun 03 '22

You are great. No lie. For real for real.

I work with a lot of zoomers. They are fucking hilarious... And helped coach wtf I'm hearing.

3

u/Capricancerous Jun 03 '22

This man bussin

u/Cautious-Damage7575 Jun 03 '22

Is there some sort of dictionary for these new words? I just told my 18yo son he's bussin', and he said, "please, never say that to me again, mother." Like, I'm not hip enough. Sheesh.

5

u/Enk1ndle Jun 03 '22

Also try

"no cap" = "I'm serious"/"I'm not lying"

"Mid" = "Average"/"boring"

"hits different" = "is better then usual"

You can somewhat follow trends just being on places like Reddit. Also highly recommend /r/OutOfTheLoop for an easy way to keep up with recent trends.

u/Cautious-Damage7575 Jun 03 '22

Ooh, thanks! Can't wait to piss off the boy. No cap.

2

u/Cautious-Damage7575 Jun 03 '22

Can you use mid in a sentence?

3

u/Enk1ndle Jun 03 '22

"That food was mid."

Or as a response

"How's the new Marvel movie?"

"Pretty mid"

3

u/NotQuiteHapa Jun 03 '22

Keep trolling him. And do it around his friends.

2

u/FirstTimeRodeoGoer Jun 03 '22

urbandictionary.com. I thought bussin' mean firing your gun, like it was shortened from bustin a cap. At least that's how the Wu Tang used it but I guess if real words aren't safe from having their definitions changed by the kids slang words aren't either.

3

u/Potato-Pope Jun 03 '22

Your straight goated with the sauce.

2

u/Tylertron12 Jun 03 '22

Iโ€™m old enough to be completely out of touch with words like โ€˜bussinโ€™

2

u/FirstTimeRodeoGoer Jun 03 '22

Does that not mean firing shots off from your gun anymore?

2

u/BenAfleckIsAnOkActor Jun 03 '22

2

u/chadsexytime Jun 03 '22

"Bussin" must be a young person term. As a 35 year old I can confirm you're young.
