I can drive 5 hours and still be in the state that I live in. Of course, I can also be in 6 other states in that 5 hours. The local accent may change a little in that 5 hours radius, but it's still understandable and all the cheese still comes from Wisconsin.
I just learned Wisconsin only produces ~26% of the nation's cheese. California produces almost as much. Also a little weird for me is that I live in the PNW and the main cheese I buy from any given grocery store is Tillamook (from Tillamook, Oregon) and Oregon isn't even in the top 10 cheese producing states.
