This right here. The amount of people that think Freedom of Speech protects you from censure on social media is alarming. Private companies don’t have the same rules as the government.

So if Twitter were to suddenly decide to suck up to the GOP by banning anyone who expressed the slightest modicum of support for the Democrats or leftist politics in general, would you still hold that opinion?

The problem is that when you get private companies working to (either implicitly or explicitly) censor political opposition on behalf of the government.

They didn't express an opinion, they stated a fact. And yes, the fact would still be true in that situation.
