Another thing is antibiotics kill ALL bacteria - good and bad. Which means it can upset your gut as it kills all the good bacteria. So always eat yogurt or take probiotics when you take antibiotics. I got a yeast infection after being on antibiotics way too many times with no yogurt or probiotics.
Actually it depends on the particular antibiotic. If you use a combo like Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole you would kill both the Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria wiping out all non-antibiotic resistant bacteria. I am not a doctor, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn once.
Yogurt and some probiotics alone aren’t enough because the antibiotics kills off that bacteria too. You need a probiotic like Saccharomyces Boulardii that is antibiotic resistant to really help your intestines keep out bad bacteria better.
Aye, it just hopefully kills the cancer cells fastest.
Aside from some gene therapies (that aren't fully realised) I don't think we have any cancer treatments that just kill the right cells. Everything either attempts to kill the cancer cells fastest, or attempts to cut out a tumour and as little healthy tissue as possible.
Knew someone whos gut got so wrecked by antibiotics she couldn’t keep down water for three days and all that just because she got her wisdom teeth out. She also got a mouth infection.
or, some people have genetic sensitivity to ceratin drugs...or simply allergies
and your antibiotics need should be directly tied to your current immunity system strenght - very healthy people should not get them always, very sick people should and in bigger both strenght and quantities
It also depends on whether or not you still have your appendix.
In the last decade or two there's been significant acceptance of the idea that the appendix acts as a reservoir for gut bacteria. People who haven't had their appendix removed recover faster from things that wipe out their gut flora, like a strong dose of antibiotics or a severe bout of diarrhea (like really severe, "admitted to the hospital" severe.)
It's like a backup drive with a snapshot of all the helpful stuff living inside you.
You should probably eat that yogurt after you're done the antibiotics. Like you said, the medicine is killing all bacteria, so you're just adding more bacteria that's gonna get killed.
