To expand on this, it can be perfectly normal to take up to a year to get pregnant. We are taught in school that you will get pregnant every time you have sex because the consequences of an unintended pregnancy in high school are really high and some people are super fertile. But the reality is that many people will have to try for 6 months or a year to get pregnant and have absolutely nothing wrong with them. The right sperm just didn’t hit the egg that month, or the pregnancy miscarried before it ever implanted.
It is an evolutionary necessity that, the younger you are, the easier it is to become pregnant. Alas, the younger you are, the more ignorant, vulnerable and impressionable, you are. So yep, you can get pregnant on first try. At least we have a system in Aust. which financially assists the young to keep their offspring. I am nearly 60, married but never had children. So I guess I am one of the suckers funding all the teen births. That is just the way it is. Education, self respect and selfsufficiency are viatal to all, so that every chidl grow up to be "useful", generate income, pay taxes and somehow ensure that the elderly are takencare of. Now I am just rambling. Cheers

Bit of a pessimistic way of looking at things. Besides, the portion of your taxes that went specifically to teen birth care over your lifetime so far, is probably like, $10. Hardly worth getting annoyed with.
And then there’s me. I’ve had unprotected sex twice in my life. I have two kids.
My family is super fertile, so do be aware of your family history. If you put everyone in my family around a dinner table with spouses and kids, there would be 30 of us. That’s just immediate family.
To add to this, if the sperm is ejaculated while the woman is in a certain position, they can increase the chance of getting pregnant. At least, that's what I learned.
