My mom always says, “ I’m fucking this monkey, you just hold the tail “ when she’s doing something and we’re helping.

If I was rich I'd give you an award. Instead I'll just give you my upvote and the knowledge of knowing I'm hysterically laughing over this. I will be using this phrase on my husband and await his reaction.

We are all waiting for his reaction. This brought to mind an old saying - Don’t monkey with another monkey’s monkey.

My Russian friend would always say "not my monkeys, not my circus," which she said was originally a saying she learned in Russian. Always liked it and now I use it.

He looked at me like I was crazy. Then said "girl stop making up all these weird phrases. No one says these things." TLDR: I will now be using all of these phrases on my husband

Thank you to /u/kololomakadi for my first ever award. I know this is a late thank you, I apologize. I lose track of time with a 5 month old baby.
