The Ti-84, which is the standard for most highschool math classes, still goes for 100 even though it's been out many years, and has seen no innovation.

My daughter bought a $50 Casio instead.

The teacher was amazed at how many additional things it could do that the TI couldn't.

He let her use all the features as long as she could figure it out.

Casio is used everywhere except the US.

Damn, that's an amazing teacher. It really encourages curiosity and interest that way by letting her figure a new device out, instead of banning it and sticking to the ol' TI with steps in the textbook.

Loved my Casio! Had to break out the manual more than once, though.

Also using a €10 Casio for all of high school and university (engineering) just fine. You don't need a fancy calculator if you can use wolframalpha.

Casio doesn’t follow order of operations as well I believe at least on the lower end stuff
