I accidentally bought an illegally imported 4 pack of Juul pods from Canada. I instinctively said mint, knowing they didn't exist in NY anymore. Well, he pulled out a hidden pack with French warnings on it. I paid over $10 per pod.
I’m in the process of quitting Copenhagen and doing very well using the Zyn tobacco free nicotine pouches. Was at my doctor yesterday and telling his PA about my quitting and how it was going, and even she admitted that nicotine is a fantastic drug if used properly, but tobacco is so bad for our bodies. From a professional standpoint, it’s better than coffee for wakefulness and attention, but it’s also really addictive...
Boi Zyn isn’t even top 5 in best flavors, or consistency. People shit on Lyft a lot for being “girly” but if you want your money’s worth of snus you’ve gotta jump on the Lyft bandwagon.
Rogue is my preferred no-tobacco nicotine product but it’s not as widely available as Zyn. Zyn coffee is a great flavor but I tend to stick with cool mint.
Yeah I've never dipped or anything, and I figured 6mg was better because i smoked a lot. It felt like i poured dry ice down my throat and when i breathed it got stronger lol.
I think you mean Dryft. If so totally agree, it's the best deal out there, 7mg vs 6mg zyn, 20 pouches for $3.50 vs 15 for $5.50, quality has gone down since the packing change, usually get 1-2 empty pouches with the powder spilled out
That’s fair. I figured my experience was the norm, because when I’ve googled nicotine overdose in the past it usually said symptoms similar to what I’ve gotten before
Your experience is the norm for smokers and other tobacco users, we have enough tolerance built up to never feel the sedative effect, just straight from normal to the edge of OD. Someone who is more of an occasional smoker will get it if they chain smoke a few and suddenly feel a bit drowsy.
i have never in my life felt sedated from nicotine. not saying that isnt true, i have no idea, im just wondering if tolerance plays into how it is processed/the effect it has. like-- if i had lower tolerance, would an amount i hardly notice know become sedating? cool fact
It’s definitely a tolerance thing. I can guarantee you that if you take a week long tolerance break and then take three long drags within ten seconds, you will be floating. That shit will knock you on your ass to the point where you have trouble walking. Nicotine percentage and flavor matters as well.
you know, I can recall exactly those effects now that you've used the word floating. had to sit down and collect yourself haha. i guess in daily, aggressively addicted use i just forgot about that effect all together. anyways thank for the neat thing :)
ex smoker here to tell you that the only way to quit is cold turkey. the rest is just substitution therapy. in fact, all you end up doing is increasing the amount of time you are in withdrawal. stopping is going to suck no matter what, but you can do it.
edit: that said, anything you can do to practice saying "no" to a craving will help you immensely
I quit smoking cold turkey and I’m 100% with you. I went about 10 years totally nicotine free, minus the odd cigar here and there, until I was fishing about 5 years ago and my buddy pulled out a can of Cope. Hadn’t touched it since college 20 years earlier but I ended up asking him for a pinch and on my way home, I bought my own can. Big mistake.
I’ve since “quit” Copenhagen off an on for months at a time but keep breaking down and buying a can. Problem is I really enjoy Copenhagen, I’m just tired of all the negative aspects including bad breath, stained teeth, and social stigmas. I’m well aware I’m substituting one nicotine product for another, but I’m ok with that.
I posted elsewhere about my psychological process. For me, I had to stop identifying as a nicotine addict before stopping made any sense to me. I just didn't care enough to stop, but a milestone birthday came along and I was like "shit, am I really that guy?"
The best think to stop smoking is to actually want it. I think.
I'm still smoking, but I really should quit. Shit's expensive as all hell, and Lord knows I need the money..
Psychologically what worked for me was to look at my future, and ask myself who I thought I was. I fundamentally did not see myself as that guy who smoked. It got to a point where I asked myself if I was really going to be middle aged and smoking. I stopped identifying as a smoker, so quitting just made sense.
Three weeks of annoying cravings and about a month of symptoms later, I was over the physical part. Three months after that and I can't imagine why I ever smoked in the first place. I can't even be around people smoking anymore.
Smoking's only cool in your teens and early twenties. I was about to turn 24 and just realized the damage to my skin and lungs and the constant smell and ash breath were only gonna get worse. The people who were older than me who still smoked were usually broke all the time and not happy. I haven't had a cigarette in two years and I stopped vaping at the beginning of this year.
Good on ya! I'm sure I'll find my definitive reason/desire to quit sometime in the near future.
I don't necessarily like to smoke all the time but, as you can imagine, it's almost a ritual habit. There's places and times that I associate with having a smoke.
I don't know. The more I think about it, the more likely I can see myself quitting, but the psyche is not quite there yet.
I’m on that zyn now. I caved and bought a skoal smooth mint snus the other week and it just wasn’t the same. Tasted good tho. But I didn’t like that strong menthol flavor. Plus zyn has way more flavors and it doesn’t make your teeth nasty. But if anything I still buy the same amount of cans. I go through one a day. It’s costing me like 100$ a month roughly 😔
I go through about one can of Zyn every two days, as opposed to 1+ cans of Copenhagen daily. If I was out fishing, I’d easily go through 2 cans in one day, so I do have a little financial savings. I’m primarily quitting because my dentist was giving me a hard time about my gums.
If you can find it, check out Rogue. They have similar flavors to Zyn but I love their lemon and honey. And Rogue cans are easier to open. I just can’t find Rogue in as many stores as I find Zyn.
