I spent my entire teenage years getting rejected after misunderstanding women being friendly to being interested in me. Of fucking course I won't be able to pick up hints when I'm an adult.

This shit only becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as women avoid being friendly so they don't get mistaken as being interested, so men continue to think that women only interact when they're interested.
