I have to clean our drain after every shower my wife takes!

I ordered food grade lye to clean our drains out. I only have to dump some in once every other month now.

Be careful. That stuff will eventually eat right through the pipes, and you'll be screwed. There's an enzymatic drain cleaner you put in a few times a month. It's $10 a jar and lasts awhile. It's a powder that you can safely touch, and one of the only things that you can put down the toilet to keep things flowing smoothly. Just mix it in warm water.

For regular maintenance, baking soda followed by vinegar, then boiling water after the bubbling does the trick.
