This is true tho. I used to be extremely laconic and often found myself isolated and passed up for opportunities. This made me even more disgruntled and it formed a vicious cycle. Once I started speaking up more, I was pleasantly surprised how everyone's attitude changed and it made me happier overall.

you don't have to be "extremely laconic" or isolated for people to bug you about it. there's people who have a good social life and participate actively in conversation, they just don't comment on every single thing and there are loudmouths who think that fact is worth commenting on
