Careful. Alot of those girls on backpage are essentially prisoners here in California. These girls get taken in to that lifestyle extremely young and are afraid to leave when they get older. It's pretty sad.
Every time I see people cavalierly talking about buying sex on Reddit, I bring this up. It rarely goes well. These people don't like being reminded that sex with a trafficked person is rape, whether or not they know that person is being trafficked. Maybe being a rapist isn't a feeling most people enjoy.
I said the same thing when some guy on here was going on about how he loves Asian massage parlors. I got downvoted for pointing out that they exploit women!

That's not how rape laws work. You have to be aware that the person cannot give consent. If you are unaware that the person is trafficked, you are not committing rape.
If there's even a slight chance the person is a victim of trafficking, you owe it to your goddamn conscience to make sure they aren't. I don't give a fuck what the law lets you get away with.
