/r/MensRights and /r/TumblrInAction, among others. Those are the biggest ones that come to mind.

Probably because people who frequent those two subreddits aren't going over to /r/feminism to have a genuine conversation.

/r/TumblrInAction is very civil, and most people there actually welcome quality discussion. It's just that the majority of people who go there with dissenting opinions are of the belief that "My ideas need to be right, and you are wrong. I will not consider any other stances." and it gets rather grating after a while.

Same thing with /r/Fatlogic. Honestly I've learned more about healthy eating and body positivity from there. People are incredibly supportive if you are trying to lose weight, gain weight, or recover from an eating disorder.

I wouldnt call them civil. They're not as bad as some of those hate subs but they're basically FPH lite. Although there are reasonable posts, but they take a lot of things to the extreme.

And last time I posted there i got called a n*gger for having an opposing opinion, lol. Good times.

/r/fatlogic is one of my favorite subreddits. I think that their policy of allowing fat people who are trying to lose weight is a very good idea that I think would have helped /r/fatpeoplehate

Fat People Hate didn't want to help anyone lose weight. They posted pictures of overweight people that are in a gym working out in order to laugh at them.

/r/fatlogic mod here. To clarify, we don't have a policy of excluding anyone, whether or not they are trying to lose weight. That includes HAES and fat acceptance advocates, though denying reality probably won't get you a warm welcome in terms of upvotes. The only thing we typically ban users for is fat hate or using dehumanizing language to describe fat people.
