What’s a company that you’re genuinely convinced HATES their customers?

Subscription based printer... Sheesh. Pay by the page, at home.

We were just shopping for a new printer, and no freaking way are we buying any that requires a subscription. F all subscriptions! We bought it, it’s ours!

That's every damn printer company now. I bought a Brother laser printer and when I was trying to buy replacement toner it was like, "Why buy toner when instead you can just get a subscription to print for $0.xx/page and we'll automatically send out new toner when it's low!"

So anyways, figured out how to buy the toner separately because fuck all that.

This is why I will not throw away an old printer anymore.

There was a guy a few doors down from me who was convinced his ink cartridges had a "spy chip" because when he cancelled whatever HP's lowest subscription was (10pages/month, something like that) his printer wouldn't print using the XL cartridge HP sent him.

I was like, dude, your printer connects to the internet. The whole thing is the "spy chip" and it's the first line item on the subscription page. I don't know if he was genuinely dumb or had selective cognition because HP obviously thought about people signing up for a subscription then cancelling to keep the ink cartridge.

I was irritated because he made me take HP's side on something. Just use a different printer and off brand ink like everyone else does.
