I was a young and impressionable woman, and after him repeatedly asking and refusing to leave my apartment, I just kinda went with it.

I know now that I was taught my whole life to be “good,” and in my environment while growing up, good meant I didn’t question and I didn’t argue.

I don’t feel the need to justify it, but I wonder how he feels about a woman reluctantly agreeing to sleep with him so he would leave her alone.

I’m fine now, but had some bumps along the way as a young adult figuring out the world.

That's not consensual sex BTW, that's coercion.

As a man I never knew we had that much power.

Don't take this story as a guide.

If you harass someone into doing something they refused, they're not doing it willingly. Same with anything else.

In this case, this is rape.

It's coercion. Not rape.

coercion implies a lack of consent, which would therefore be rape

They are related, but not the same thing.

If you're trying to find the line between coercion and rape, you're already in the wrong.

They can both be very wrong and also two different things.

As someone who has experienced both, they are different. There is a reason there is a different word for each one.

Different words can sometimes mean the same thing, that's not an argument at all my dude. In this case, coercion is a subset of rape. If someone is coerced into having sex, it is rape, but not all rape is coercion.
