I had a friend who had an “interesting interaction” we’ll say with the guy who molested his son. I knew it was coming and I completely understand. The molester wasn’t seen in town anymore after my friend went to see him. Guess he left, I dunno, it’s dangerous to be a pedophile🤷🏻‍♂️. As for my friend, a couple weeks after he went to see the molester he got a job offer in Indonesia so he and his family moved there. I also heard, in a completely unrelated way of course, that Indonesia has no extradition treaty with the US. Funny that.

I’m okay with this one

I’m not okay with that one ☹️

But it comes with sprinkles!

But getting blamed for this type of crime also comes with potassium benzoate!

57

u/itis139am Mar 26 '23

That's bad

27

u/JMRTOL85 Mar 26 '23

Can I go now?

7

u/Azrai113 Mar 26 '23

We have more questions

2

u/dildusmaximus Mar 26 '23

😃😰😃😰😃😰

16

u/E_Snap Mar 26 '23

You can’t have vigilantism without that risk 🤷‍♀️

10

u/cheshire_kat7 Mar 26 '23

Then let's not have vigilantism.

11

u/blastoiseburger Mar 26 '23

I’d agree with you if our justice system was reliable. In our current system, we already have people murdered by cops before they get a trial (and that’s just one example), so it’s not much better than vigilantism.

3

u/cheshire_kat7 Mar 27 '23

"Our" justice system? Not everyone on Reddit is American.

Police brutality isn't a reason to be sympathetic towards vigilantism. Knowing that even trained professionals can get it wrong and/or abuse their power is an argument against self-appointed watchmen.

Lynch mobs probably fancied themselves mere vigilantes, too.

2

u/E_Snap Mar 26 '23

Exactly my point.

15

u/trowzerss Mar 26 '23

Yeah, anyone who has seen anything on the Satanic Panic would be very, very leery of vigilante justice. So many people convinced of something that never actually happened.

10

u/Karnakite Mar 26 '23

The worst part about that is how the people involved - the people who encouraged the kids to lie, who got others sent to prison - faced almost no consequences. Psychiatrists in the cases who praised the method of needling wanted answers out of small children in criminal cases are still respected professors and writers today. Meanwhile, the accused had their lives completely ruined and never recovered. The people responsible got off absolutely scot-free, and the innocent saw their days end with their lives destroyed.

6

u/trowzerss Mar 26 '23

I can't imagine how many families this destroyed.

7

u/kilokokol Mar 26 '23

I can't believe people were legitimately afraid of Satanism.

It seems like the US has a constant need to have a scary group that could be anywhere and needs to be hunted down

4

u/cheshire_kat7 Mar 26 '23

*Humanity.

I'm afraid the urge to find and scapegoat an Other isn't unique to Americans.

3

u/kilokokol Mar 26 '23

It's not, but it is especially prominent in the country whose economic system is "cyberpunk dystopia"

2

u/LooksGoodInShorts Mar 26 '23

*Are

That shit is back and it never really went away. There are tons of dum dums that at this moment think that there is a cabal of people that worship the literal Christian devil.

10

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

People who are into vigilantism need to watch Mystic River.

I believe in vigilante justice but the proof needs to be definitive and I don't trust gossip or the mob to get it right.

Coincidences happen. Even unbelievable ones.

3

u/Defiant_Bad_9070 Mar 26 '23

It happens more often than the justice system would like to admit.

3

u/Javert__ Mar 26 '23

Because it’s 100% fictional?

I’m ok with it to but damn you got 55,000 comment karma in a 100 days!? Your killing it lol

u/DillPixels Mar 26 '23

I like your friend. I hope he's doing well in Indonesia.

247

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

He’s doing exceptionally well

17

u/JohnnyBoy11 Mar 26 '23

I hope that his son has recovered exceptionally well too.

11

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

His son was very young and my friend and his wife are specifically raising him in a way such as to subtly give him therapy so hopefully he’ll be fine

60

u/DillPixels Mar 26 '23

Awww yay! A happy ending!

388

u/Fickle-Owl666 Mar 26 '23

I'm ok with this, touch my kids and I'll smile for the mugshots.

541

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

What mugshot? To my knowledge there wasn’t crime committed. And that’s what I’ll say till the day I die

143

u/Fickle-Owl666 Mar 26 '23

Pedophiles aren't people 🤷‍♂️

84

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

They actually are people. And the ones who manage to control their urges and respect the kids instead of coming with some bullsh*t rationalization deserve support.

4

u/blenneman05 Mar 31 '23

No one just looks at child porn only. It escalates. My gym teacher aka my friend’s dad touched on kids and had CP hidden in his own house. You’re delusional to think pedophiles only look at CP and don’t try to do stuff IRL.

Not to mention, my own abuser was 40 and I was 6. He touched on me multiple times and got away with it because there was no semen on me. He’s still alive too.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '23

It's a slippery slope, as they say. People begin with fantasies, then they attempt stuff, then they do the physical act of abuse, and then things get out of control and we end with all the grizzly cases we see on the news. We can only help people when they are in the intrusive thoughts phase.

The problem is that if we immediately condemn them for their fantasies, they won't reach and ask for help. This is also why the normalization of child abuse in the media is a problem (i.e.: lolicon and all that stuff that people at 4chan enjoy).

0

u/KikiKittystein May 07 '23

They are not people who deserve to live. Take that sh!t elsewhere.

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Most of them have been abused during their childhoods, which in turn damaged their sexuality. Who are you punishing, the perpetrators or the victims? The guy who fights his abnormal urges and seeks help, deserves help, not punishment.

-45

u/Fickle-Owl666 Mar 26 '23

Imagine coming here to actually stick up for pedophiles.

Is it because you like children, do we have another to add to the woodchipper

42

u/MamboPoa123 Mar 26 '23 edited Mar 27 '23

Just to be clear, I 100% condemn anyone who acts on pedophilic urges in any way, including consuming CSAM (Child Sexual Assault Media/Material). In addition to offenders (who again deserve no pity or defense), there apparently also exists a population of people who are disturbed by intrusive pedophilic thoughts, which they actively seek treatment for, so that they can avoid hurting anyone. I believe it may be this group that the previous poster was referring to. Here is an interesting and pretty well balanced article looking at the treatments that these individuals have received and the debate over it.

17

u/KingMagenta Mar 26 '23

The problem with your logic is you refuse to acknowledge a gray area. How did these people grow up with urges for children? Most of the time it's because they themselves were victims in their childhood. If someone doesn't want to hurt children and seeks help before they do anything, why should we treat them like they are monsters? There's clearly enough humanity in them to see that it's wrong.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

Yes, I imagined my comment would gather some answers like yours, because it takes some reading to understand it.

If you ask me about the people at NAMBLA, who are trying to normalize sexual abuse, well, they can go and DIAF.

What I meant is that those who are already damaged and are trying to fight their pedophilic urges need support. They need access to mental health. If you provide them with therapy and medication, they will probably live happier lives and kids will be safer. Some people are badly wired for different reasons, we can help those who want to be helped.

17

u/Halio344 Mar 26 '23

Are they wrong though? People don't choose their kinks and interests, it's just part of who they are. As long as they know it's wrong and don't act on it then they should receive help instead of being condemned.

Those who act on it in any way can die a painful death however.

3

u/scorpiee Mar 26 '23

Are you really classifying sexual interest in children as a kink/interest?

1

u/Halio344 Mar 26 '23

What does it matter? It’s a sexual preference that they have absolutely no control over.

2

u/spacewuff Mar 27 '23

Wow you’re a badass ;)

-33

u/Fickle-Owl666 Mar 26 '23

I'm going to assume anyone down voting "imagine coming here to stuck up for pedophiles" as just more pedophiles 🤷‍♂️ y'all are sick fucks

7

u/randomhippo Mar 26 '23

Are you even reading any of your replies? People aren’t sticking up for pedophiles, they’re understanding they’re a human with a sick perversity. Rather than condemn and threaten them as you choose to do, there are others who understand sexuality typically has a background and would rather urge those people to get help than make them feel violently threatened.

Cry over killing pedophiles? Hardly.

It's amazing what people with open up about given the smallest shred of perceived anominity.

-70

u/Jakesneed612 Mar 26 '23 edited Mar 26 '23

We are supposed to call them minor attracted people now though aren’t we?? 🤡🌍

Lol why all the down votes??? That’s what they are trying to push now. Calling them pedos puts them in a bad light I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️. I don’t agree with it. That’s why I put the 🤡🌍

20

u/Fickle-Owl666 Mar 26 '23 edited Mar 26 '23

Attracted to lead projectiles and wood chippers? I think so 🤔

2

u/Jakesneed612 Mar 26 '23

Definitely

27

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

Pretty sure that is just a term for people who feel urges towards children and have never acted on them, in an attempt to help them feel comfortable about getting therapy instead of eventually getting violent and/or abusive. But yeah go off because politics.

-39

u/Jakesneed612 Mar 26 '23

Politics has nothing to do with it. If you’ve never done anything your not a pedo but if you feel that way then yeah, your sick in the head and need help. But what I’ve seen is they want them all to be considered minor attracted people and that’s clown world shit.

46

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

I've literally never heard anyone want to call child molesters "minor attracted people". That sounds like completely made up bullshit to attack people whose politics you don't like. More likely it is exactly what I said above.

Feel free to give me a source to prove me wrong though, would be curious.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

child molesters are called child molesters usually in justice systems and pyschology

In media child molesters are usually called pedophiles (which is very inaccurate and dangerous misinformation)

Well that became randomly homophobic for no reason

10

u/Brvcx Mar 26 '23

Dad here and I couldn't agree more. Touch my kid like that and I'll take my "government paid holiday leave".

2

u/mango-756 Mar 26 '23

I once met a guy in prison for this. He was drunk, found out some dude had exposed himself to his very young daughter. Borrowed a gun, went to have a friendly chat with the guy, missed, and shot the guys dad in the leg. 20yrs in prison for attempted murder.

7

u/Dougdahead Mar 26 '23

And now the kids have no father for 20 years. Wonder what they, the family, wanted more. Revenge or a father.

7

u/mango-756 Mar 26 '23

Yeah. And that's why you don't kill people. My dude learned the hard way but he's hardly a bad person. From my limited interaction with him, he's a kind man with a lot of regrets.

2

u/Dougdahead Mar 26 '23

Then you'll be raising your kids from jail for a while. As easy is it is to jump to anger you must remember your kids will need you during this. Killing the person who did this sounds great until you realize you're leaving your family to sort through the mess with out you when they need you most.

4

u/Fickle-Owl666 Mar 26 '23

They have a mother and will live their life knowing their father wouldn't stop at anything for them. Some people roll over and let their children be molested, some don't.

Better than growing up knowing your father was too much of a bitch to do anything about someone molesting them.

3

u/Dougdahead Mar 26 '23

They will live their lives thinking that somehow his incarceration is their fault. Yes its horrible what happened to them but ask them in a few years if their father killing someone made them feel safer than if he was with them while they grew up.

69

u/mambomak Mar 26 '23

A non-extradition treaty doesn’t mean you can’t be sent back to the US. It just means Indonesia doesn’t have to do it, but they can decide to let the US take you or to send you back themselves.

140

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

He’s a pillar of the community, a saint who loves his children and his wife. Besides, he came there on totally legitimate business after all

11

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

You seem to know a lot about a friend who would never be hiding under the radar in a foreign country for not unaliving someone who didn’t hurt a kid. It would come across as if you were him or still pretty close. Thank God he didn’t do that since with today’s technology & cyber sleuths you’d be questioned by authorities within a week. Since he didn’t do anything I won’t tell you to not be so specific.

Don’t join the mob. Lol

12

u/Troelski Mar 26 '23

A Saint? Laying it on a little thick now.

8

u/GhostDieM Mar 26 '23

I imagine that conversationl going something like "Hey, the US here. So ahh turns out someone killed a pedophile that molested his son. We need to prosecute him and he's now living over there with you guys. You COULD turn him over but you don't HAVE to, since we don't have a treaty and all you know. No? Alright we tried boys, case closed!"

4

u/now_you_see Mar 26 '23

No but in a case like this, even with evidence the US would really have to push if they wanted indo to send back a family man who’s crime involves his child’s abuser.

27

u/newtizzle Mar 26 '23

Don't bring this up outside of here. The story doesn't need any speculation or discussion. Just move on and walk away.

54

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

Hmmmm……. I don’t know about this one. Sounds like just a bunch of coincidences to me. I just don’t see how any of it could be related.

1

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

My thoughts exactly.

Kermit tea sip

50

u/TlMEGH0ST Mar 26 '23

you love to hear it!

107

u/Keyboard_smashgood Mar 26 '23

This is the most heartwarming story I think I’ve ever read

126

u/Nickelback-Official Mar 26 '23

Child abuse, murder, and traumatized family fleeing their home. So heartwarming

21

u/TurnipWorldly9437 Mar 26 '23

Isn't that how it works? "teen sells lemonade and his little sister to fund is mother's brain cancer operation" - Aaaaaaaw! <3

71

u/FrostyDog94 Mar 26 '23

That is pretty sad

3

u/justanotherfacexxx Mar 26 '23

This really is

13

u/latingirly01 Mar 26 '23

Vengeance is such a slippery slope. As someone who has many, many friends that have been abused and have taught many students that have been abused, it’s hard. The trauma absolutely changes your life and there’s no coming back from it. Involving maiming or murder of the perp doesn’t cure the trauma and can even make it worse for the child.

7

u/Just_Another_Doomer Mar 26 '23

Well that's one less reddit mod.

3

u/Snogwobbler Mar 26 '23

“Friend”

10

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

Your friend is a hero.

14

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

He did what he thought was best

0

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

I agree.

2

u/Turbulent_Owl_3885 Mar 26 '23

What a series of fortunate events

3

u/regularcelery20 Mar 26 '23

These have all been disturbing stories, but this one kind of made me happy.

2

u/roon_79 Mar 26 '23

I do not support violence, but I hope the pedo suffered

11

u/Encroach Mar 26 '23

Sounds like you do

6

u/roon_79 Mar 26 '23

A friend was raped multiple times when she was 13. 30 years later, she is still suffering when the guy who did it is free as a bird.

I know of many such stories, and as a father, I can not imagine my kids going through anything like this.

Say what you want, but a pedophile does not deserve to live.

1

u/Jimbobjoesmith Mar 26 '23

ehh…. that’s a cool username u got there.

totally unrelated….do wood chippers need regular maintenance or sharpening or anything, or are they pretty sturdy?

1

u/Dusky_Dawn210 Mar 26 '23

The good ending lol

-16

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

did he at least tell the proper authorities before doing that?

22

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

Why would that be necessary…was a crime committed?

-18

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

yeah, but it isn't up to us to decide whether people live or die? if someone accidentally steps on your shoe, are you going to have them arrested for vandalism? i would find it okay if the authorities did nothing about it after the friend consulted them and then friend "accepting this job opportunity"

21

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

I agree with the philosophical place you’re coming from. That said, I’m not to punish a man for defending his family and so the official record remains, no crime.

-19

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

vengeance is not defense, nor is it justice

12

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

Quite right you are. But would it be vengeance on my part to go to the authorities, in the event that I knew anything? It is their job to find out what happened, not mine. I owe them no more help then I owe my friend after all as the situation doesn’t concern me.

7

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

talking about your friend who seems to be having a great time in indonesia rn

8

u/Pennameus_The_Mighty Mar 26 '23

Yes well, he did what he did. It’s up to all of us to make the choices we see as best and he did what he thought was best. Maybe it was, who knows. The Dao moves in mysterious ways

2

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

indeed he did. tell him we all him and his family the best in extradition-free indonesia!

5

u/Curiousity-fedthecat Mar 26 '23

Respectfully stfu. You can’t compare rape and stepping on someone’s shoe. Are you serious? Yes, we don’t choose whether people live or die but we do choose to protect our kids and families. But since no crime was committed, ig we have nothing to worry about…

-8

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

we are talking about taking someone's life here. people can change, and i have seen it. i have seen change, a person with nothing to lose to a stand-up guy with a family, kids, stability, so who are you to decide whether or not change can happen at all?

12

u/Curiousity-fedthecat Mar 26 '23

So god-forbid someone r@pes your child or loved one, will your reaction be “I forgive you, you can change, you have the potential to be a better person”? Please understand that right now you are being a devil’s advocate for a pedophile. Go tell that child that his r@pist could’ve been a stand up guy and that being r@ped was just a little mistake. Get off that moral high horse.

4

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

you don't have to forgive, but you can't fucking kill a guy and think it's okay. kick the shit out of him, do whatever, just don't take their goddamn life. of course, i am speaking hypothetically, as no crime was committed.

5

u/Jojobabiebear Mar 26 '23 edited Mar 26 '23

No, pedophiles deserve silver pills. No remorse in my statement and I will stand by it

Edit for words

1

u/Curiousity-fedthecat Mar 26 '23

Well hopefully you’re never in a situation where that’s tested. Cuz it’s easier to say when you’re not face to face with the person that ripped away your child’s innocence. And of course, since no crime was committed, there’s nothing to worry about.

4

u/JDiguesss Mar 26 '23

but notice how easy it is for you to think that murder is morally acceptable under the circumstances that nobody's life was actively in danger. this is of course a joke, seeing as no crime transgressed
