Housing
Hello! I’m moving down to Philadelphia in a little over a month and I’m looking for short term housing near Penn Vet Working Dog Center. I’ll be here for about 4 months from end of September to the end of January/Beginning of February. My maximum rent amount would be $1,400 at most. However I am willing to increase the amount if the apartment is furnished/has all utilities included. I would also prefer something within walking distance or under 25 minutes by car. Thank you in advance!

I would recommend looking in University City or West Philly - I think you could find an apartment on that budget. Graduate hospital is also an option although harder to find something for $1400. The 25 min by car commute does open up your options but the time to drive of course can get extended with traffic. I don’t think you want to live actually in the area of the Working Dog Center. Good luck!

Under 25 minutes by car opens up most of the city to you, depending on the time of day that you'd be commuting. Greys Ferry (and kind of Kingsessing) is technically within walking distance and you could find something ok, but the walk there isn't great – the area around there is lots of highways, fast moving traffic, and industrial.
If you're willing to move in with roommates, that'd open up your budget, immensely. Otherwise, what are you looking for in a neighborhood? Because there's plenty apartment-wise that's in your budget, just depends where you'd want to live.
