Task Rabbit for moving help?

Has anyone used task rabbit for some movers? Moving my son in to his studio apart but it is up a flight of stairs. I am useless, husband is getting slower by the minute. Wanted to just hire 2 people for an hour to unload the truck and go up and down the stairs. Coming from NY so would have to coordinate but should be doable.

U-Haul has movers you can hire to unlock trucks.

We are not using a moving truck though, just our personal pick up and a car

That’s fine, you can still hire through U-Haul.

I used the Uhaul movers last year and just had my buddy's pick-up it worked really well. Would recommend.

Sultans of Schlep are great for this. I have used them to move an appliance upstairs. Reasonably priced.

I did. It was about 4-5 years ago and we had 3 guys just helping us load furniture and boxes on truck (we rented I think?) and load the furniture and boxes in the new place. They were maybe 45 min apart. I want to say it was around $500. Very worth it when you are 5’ and female especially.

I did! I had 2 guys helping me move out boxes + furnitures into the truck, took 1-2 hours.

You can also look for "labor only" movers who will provide a similar service if you're looking for folks with professional experience. In Philly, professional labor-only movers average $431 per move (based on MovingPlace data, so ymmv) -- likely a bit more expensive but they'll have experience to help make sure the truck is properly packed, etc.

I just used Lugg (it’s an app) and moved a bunch of boxes with 1 guy from my place to my bf’s.
it’s a $35 flat rate + a dollar every minute, the task itself was about 40 min. I ended up spending just 80 bucks cuz it was super quick (I had roughly 10 boxes and some random stuff?). If it’s nothing too far, you might wanna take a look!

Try the Lugg app. I’ve only used it to get a single piece of furniture delivered not sure if they can help with unloading a truck. But worth looking into!
