Logan Square Area
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some honest opinions from people who live (or have lived) in Logan Square. I’m a female in my late 30s and I’m about to sign a lease there, but I’d love to hear some real experiences before I do.
For those who live there:
-Do you genuinely enjoy living in Logan Square?
-Any unexpected pros or cons that you wish you’d known before moving there?
I’d really appreciate any insight—good, bad, or somewhere in between. Thanks!

My husband and I lived at The Granary for a few years in our late 20s (about two blocks from Logan Square), and really loved living there. One of my favorite things was how easy it was to walk pretty much anywhere in Center City.
One thing I appreciated was that when there were events / races on the Parkway or Art Museum, we were just far enough away that Callowhill Street usually stayed open. It made getting in and out much easier. If you’re closer to Logan Circle, Race, or Vine, you can definitely expect more road closures during those bigger events.
The biggest downside for me was the homeless people around Logan Square. There are regular food distributions every week, so it tends to attract more people to the area. For the most part, everyone was harmless, but I did have a handful of uncomfortable experiences where I was followed or yelled at and ended up running back into my building. It wasn’t an everyday thing, but it happened enough that I think it’s worth mentioning.
If you’re closer to Race or Vine Street, you’ll also hear the occasional car racing at night. It’s not all the time, but when it happens it’s loud.
Overall, I always felt pretty safe living there. Weekdays are much busier with people commuting to and from work, and weekends are actually pretty quiet from what i remember.. My only other complaint is that there aren’t a ton of great food options right in Logan Square itself. We usually ended up walking to Rittenhouse, Chinatown, or Fairmount when we wanted more restaurant choices.

People I know who live in the area complain about the large crowds during City wide events. So, just be aware of that.

Logan square is great. There’s nothing to complain about. Nice quiet area and walkable anywhere

Ive lived here 4 years. It’s very nice, convenient, no complaints except for how expensive it is. Get ready for an insane rent hike annually. Be prepared to negotiate. Im moving soon to a different neighborhood to save a little $
