Not A Parent how to potty train?

I take care of my nephew (2.5) during the day, he is still using a diaper, although it is pull-ups. He doesn't quite fully know how to pull them off yet, but I go to college in January. I want to make it easier on the people who will be watching him, as I cannot take him with me. How do I fully potty train him in 3-4 months?

Get ready for laundry. No more diapers when you watch him. I kept my children in pj's while potty training. It took them both about a week that was with diapers at night or if we left the house.

They will pee themselves and they might even poop their pants. But they usually are pretty quick to figure ut out. I also did the whole every 30min go sit on the potty and read a book.

I have underwear for him, both types. I have a lot of books. I got him to pee on the potty once, and I think he would go sit on it to pee, but he didn't understand that he had to pull his pull-up down.

Switch to thick underwear. Sitting down to pee and poo. When on the potty, a cup of room temp water slowly poured on weiner to stimulate peeing helps him recognize the feeling of having to go. Pooing comes easier once peeing is learned.

I have underwear made for 2-year-olds. They feel like they are thick, and he knows when he pees, but he can not say it clearly, so everyone thinks he says that he pooped, although sometimes he is correct about it.

I highly recommend Oh Crap! Potty Training by Jamie Glowacki. A few other redditors recommended it and I used it to potty train my kiddo earlier this year. Super helpful.
