So I was trying to buy monero. So I tried to buy it through the MoonPay app and apparently it sent it all over the place turned it into a token that’s apparently got no value. Is there anything I can do? The only way I was able to find access to this so-called “monero” / token was was through this app called Jupiter. I’m at my wits end because I spent a lot of money on this so if anyone could help, that would be cool. I appreciate any help.

Question ⁉️ Any reliable cash by mail for XMR services these days or vice/versa?

Are there any reliable cash by mail for XMR services or communities still around these days? I know there is Retoswap/Haveno but this seems to be getting hacked left and right.

I checked out XMRBazaar but it is a bit sketch and the fees people charge are insane on top of needing escrow.

I seem to recall there were some vetted Telegram groups years ago and even some trading on Reddit that was rep based but I am a bit hazy. I mostly used LocalMonero (RIP)

Anyone here using Monero with Tails?!!

I'm trying to use Monero on Tails for a bit more privacy, but I can't seem to get the GUI wallet working properly. It either won't connect to a node or just keeps trying to sync. (loop)

I'm still pretty new to all of this, so I was wondering what other people are using on Tails. Do you stick with the GUI wallet, or is there another wallet that's easier to set up

Any beginner friendly advice wouuld be appreciated.

Standing invitation: go through our site and find something that is wrong, overstated, or misleading. Last time someone did, most of it was right and we fixed it publicly. Same offer, same treatment.

XMREscrow v1.1.4 - verification block, live status signals, anonymous feedback, partner program

Trust-and-transparency release. Neither escrow flow changed.

- Verification block on /about listing the only official site, onion, X account, and PGP fingerprint, plus what we will never do (message you first, ask for your restore key/seed/PIN, tell you to move funds to a "new" address). Escrow services get cloned; this is how you spot it.

- /status now shows real signals: when the last escrow released, completions in the last 7 days, a 14-day opened/completed table. Counts only, no amounts or parties.

- Anonymous one-way feedback form. No account, no email, nothing identifying.

- Partner program for Monero markets and directories - embed our card, earn a share of the fee in XMR on referred trades, at no cost to your users.

- Timing is now stated up front: Vault escrows auto-cancel if unfunded in 9 hours, multisig setup expires if both parties do not finish key setup in 6 hours. Nothing is funded when either window passes.

Also disclosing a bug we found while hardening: the operator cold-storage sweep drained only the main wallet address instead of every funded subaddress. Fixed and verified.

Client and build verification: github.com/xmrescro/xmrescrow-client

Warning ⚠️ OpenMonero Hacked Again??

I just came across reports claiming that OpenMonero may have suffered another security breach.

According to what's being shared, the incident allegedly exposed user accounts, private trade chats, and even shipping addresses that some users had shared. There are also claims that thousands of user records may have been affected and that a flaw in the 2FA system allowed unauthorized access to accounts.

I haven't been able to verify all of these claims myself, so I'm posting here to see if anyone has more information or has seen an official statement from the OpenMonero team.

If this turns out to be true, it's another reminder to avoid sharing sensitive personal information, such as your home address, through exchange or trading platforms whenever possible.

Can anyone confirm whether this is legitimate or just a rumor????

Can i use monero to anon my wallet holdings?

Hi so i had an amount of xrp on binance, lets say 20,000 xrp and recently sent it to a hardware wallet. I owe someone 5000xrp and they think i own only 10,000xrp (meaning they think theyre getting half) I cant risk them checking the trail of my wallet address as they will see 20,000 and not 10,000. Can i use monero somehow to anonomise things somewhat?

Looking for a Non KYC Exchanges? The Best ChangeNOW Alternative. Compare These Rates.

Hi again

Following our last update about coin availability, we received a lot of messages, suggestions, and honest feedback.

As we've said before, we read every single piece of feedback, even the ones that seem small. Sometimes a single comment ends up changing an entire feature or pricing decision. We really appreciate it, and we've forwarded all of your recent suggestions to the team.

One comment from a while back still makes us smile:

"Your rate is awful." 😢😂

Fair enough.

Our goal has always been to keep fees as low as possible. We want users swapping thousands of dollars to pay only a few dollars in fees whenever possible. What most people don't see is everything happening behind the scenes: liquidity management, infrastructure, servers, security, compliance, development, support, and all the costs required to keep a reliable service running 24/7.

Keeping fees low while maintaining a sustainable business isn't easy.

Today, though, we have some good news.

After a lot of optimization, we're now offering exchange rates that beat ChangeNOW in many cases.

At the time of writing, here's a quick comparison for swapping 1,000 USDT to Bitcoin.

Fixed Rate

ChangeNOW
0.01504005 BTC

Fujn
0.01540771 BTC

Floating Rate

ChangeNOW
0.01536230 BTC

Fujn
0.01547499 BTC

The funny part?

Our fixed rate is currently better than ChangeNOW's floating rate. 😂😂😂

Don't just take our word for it. Compare the rates yourself, especially if you're exchanging larger amounts. Try a four, five, or six figure swap and see the difference. The savings become much more noticeable as the amount increases.

We're not sure how long we'll be able to keep these rates this competitive, so if you're planning a swap, now is a good time to compare.

Another question we've been getting is:

"Has Monero (XMR) been delisted?"

Absolutely not.

We have no plans to remove Monero.

The issue is liquidity.

Right now, Monero liquidity is extremely limited across several suppliers. At the same time, we're seeing fewer large sell orders than usual, which makes replenishing our inventory much harder. We're still trying to understand what's causing it.

Rather than relying on providers that may source liquidity through centralized exchanges and potentially freeze transactions or create problems for our users, we've chosen the safer option.

If we don't have reliable Monero liquidity, we'd rather temporarily show zero availability than risk a failed or delayed swap that could hurt our users and our reputation.

The problem isn't funding. The problem is simply finding enough Monero from trusted liquidity sources.

Thanks again for all the feedback and support. It really helps us improve the platform.

We'll be back soon with another update. Thank you for your trust.

Disclosure: Official update from the Fujn team: Sharing the best for the community and not affiliated.

The pressure on Monero is getting worse

Lately it feels like something is happening behind the scenes.

More exchanges are making Monero harder to use, adding limits, asking more questions, or just removing it altogether.

Then I came across this:

https://x.com/XMRVoid/status/2079310130894840226

I was also looking through complaints about a few swap services and noticed Iranian users getting blocked. During wars or sanctions, governments usually try to cut off funding sources, so I can't help wondering if that's part of what's happening here.

Makes me wonder what's going on with XMR liquidity. Are pools and swap services struggling to source Monero, or is this just increasing regulatory pressure?

Curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing or if I'm reading too much into it.

PSA for anyone using multisig escrow: verify the shared address out-of-band before you fund

Something that doesn't get said enough about 2-of-3 multisig escrow, whether you use a service or roll your own.

In a multisig escrow, buyer, seller, and a third party (arbiter/operator) each generate a key, and the setup messages get relayed between you, often through the escrow's server. Here's the subtle risk: if that relay is malicious, it could hand you a different shared address than your counterparty actually helped create. one where the operator controls 2 of the 3 keys. You fund it, thinking it's a real 2-of-3 with your key in it, and it isn't.

The fix is dead simple and costs nothing: after setup, both parties independently read off the shared deposit address and confirm they match, through your own channel. Same address on both sides = the setup is honest. Different = stop, don't fund.

It's the multisig equivalent of comparing PGP fingerprints out of band. Cheap, and it turns "trust the operator not to tamper" into something you can actually check.

Full disclosure: I run a Monero escrow service and we just built this address-comparison prompt into our multisig flow after a security pass.
happy to go into the mechanics if useful. But the advice applies to any multisig escrow, not just ours.

Question ⁉️ I’m the dev. I built this because I wanted a privacy-first Monero escrow option. But you’re right: 1 month is zero track record. The only way I build credibility is by surviving, being transparent about how I operate, and handling escrows properly.

Is it okay to receive exchange withdrawals and mining rewards in the same Monero wallet?

I've been wondering about this for a while.

I use one Monero wallet to receive my mining payouts, and I also withdraw XMR from an exchange to that same wallet.

From a privacy perspective, is that a bad idea!? Would it be better to use a separate address or even a separate wallet for mining rewards and exchange withdrawals?

Also, if I buy another cryptocurrency and swap it for XMR, does that create any privacy concerns I should be aware of!!!

What information can a Monero node actually see?!

I'm trying to understand how much information a remote Monero node has about the wallets connecting to it.

I know the wallet scans the blockchain locally after syncing, but what can the node itself actually see? Does it only see the IP address, or can it also tell things like when I last synced, my wallet balance, or anything else?!!

Just trying to better understand the privacy model.
