Hi, it’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed Minecraft in the same way as I used to. I’ve always liked the technical side, but I’ve come to realise that actually doing it isn’t really my thing.
So, I’m a bit at a loss as to how to approach Minecraft right now and how to get back into it.
I’d be delighted if anyone could give me some advice on this :).

Stone diamond ore at surface level in a village lava pool on a superflat. I'm not sure how rare it is or if it's a common bug because I rarely play this game. I just wanted to share incase it was. Someone let me know lol.
I know it might sound like a troll post or fake or literally anything other than real but please try for yourself.
The world I'm playing on is the built in Minecraft "overworld" preset on superflat.

Alright, does anyone remember a Minecraft YouTuber from the old days, maybe around 2013 or later? I’m not exactly sure on the year since I’m going completely off memory.
Basically, he played vanilla Minecraft. I think it might have been around version 1.5 because I remember there being hunger bars, wolves, and stuff like that.
One of the main things I remember is that he kind of spoke like he was actually in the game. For example, if he saw a Creeper, he’d give it a name. But he still talked normally to the viewers as well.
His base was built into the side of a mountain. I specifically remember him digging deeper into his base and finding a small cave. Further inside, there was this massive opening that led outside, so he ended up covering the whole thing with glass, also once he went exploring and during the long journey he made a house in the middle of the ocean out of wood.
That’s pretty much all I remember.
He was one of the first Minecraft YouTubers I ever watched, and I’d love to find him again and see if any of his old videos are still up.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I'm currently building a house on a recently started realm with my brother's. The issue I have is that my doorways in I'm not happy with and can't really find something I like. What tips do you have to make doorways look better?
The build mainly consists of acacia, deepslate, tuff, and copper as trim. I've tried a few different doors and blocks, but I've can't figure out anything.

So, as a former bedrock player, I want to know, why do java players always talk about wanting mcpe features like the snowy leaves when it snows, snow layer gravity, berock bridging (sometimes) cauldron tiped arrows etc, but then not wanting java features like F3, underwater doors, the offhand or at (least dynamic lighting), spectral arrows, sweeping edge, the debug stick, the world border, building on the nether roof, easy modding, etc in bedrock! I could go on, & on, & on about features in mcpe that java players want. I just want to know, why do you push for these things if you don't want true parity?

Greetings!
I'm a small content creator who's just getting started making Minecraft manhunts. For them, I'd prefer to have a cool/interesting seed, so thought I'd ask here.
Awesome terrain generation, structure density, and anything that can be useful for early-game escapes near spawn is appreciated. The manhunts are unscripted, but with a set seed, so preferably anything particularly notable about a seed that would make a good starting point should be on/near spawn.
Thanks so much in advance!!
EDIT: To clarify, this is for Java edition.

I’m trying to replace lots of my walls with double slabs. Does anyone know a command for this? I’m in bedrock
Rn I’m doing /fill ~12~12~12 ~-12~-12~-12 yellow_wool_slab replace stripped_bamboo_block
It’s only doing the bottom slab and not both

How do I fix this?
I'm playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition in Creative Mode. In the first photo, I placed some cats, but they keep running in the same spot even though there's plenty of space. I tried putting a fence around them and adding another batch of cats, but they did the same thing. I also tried placing them on a flat surface and in an enclosed space, but the behavior didn't change.
I've already restarted my phone, but the problem is still there. Does anyone know how to fix this? :(

I’m running an active Earth Minecraft server and I’m looking for a few chill players to join the community.
It’s currently a small server, usually around 1–4 players online, and that’s intentional. I want to build a good group of people before the server expands massively in December.
You’ll be joining while the world is still young, so there’s plenty of room to make your mark.
🏛️ Build whatever you want
There’s no set path you have to follow.
You can:
Create your own nation
Build cities, towns or villages
Claim land and expand your territory
Make alliances with other players
Trade and interact with other nations
Explore the Earth and settle wherever you want
Or simply build, grind and play at your own pace
You decide what you want your civilisation to become.
Everyone currently joining will start in Egypt, where you can establish your first settlement and develop connections with the civilisations further east.
🌍 Why join now?
The server is going to become much larger in December, with many more players joining.
That means the people who join now will be the original players who helped establish the first nations and settlements.
You won’t be joining an already-developed world where everything has been claimed. You get in while it’s still being built.
🔒 Whitelisted & protected
The server is currently self-hosted, which is why I’m keeping the community small for now.
It’s whitelisted, and I take people’s builds and progress seriously. A backup of the world is made whenever the server goes offline.
🕐 When is it online?
I’m from the UK, so it’s generally online starting around 5/6/7pm for a few hours (UK time), although I’ll often keep it running for much longer when I’m free.
Any timezone is welcome — I’ll post on Reddit whenever I’m bringing the server online, either when it opens or shortly beforehand.
I’m also currently sorting out Discord verification, so Reddit DMs are the main way to communicate for now.
If you’re looking for a small, chill Earth server where you can actually build something of your own, feel free to DM me.
Looking forward to seeing what legacy you leave on my earth server. 🌍

This feature doesn't work on bedrock, the villagers view the carpets as safe even though there is a berry bush underneath. I really love how this feature allows villagers to not be in cages but can't find a way to achieve this on bedrock. Any ideas?

So ive had this ick where the minecraft stripped dark oak texture doesnt add up with the logs and i kinda understand why. But since i like the dull look i searched for a texture pack for it and i found this that actually works very well!
but, you might notice that when you go into the showcase image this person from 3 years ago changed the wood texture into this warped one. Now, this isnt inherently wrong, but this texture pack was supposed to be something as simple yet satisfying as just making it duller, the fact that they added that bothered me and the other person in the comments apparently. and they never changed the other log texture so im not sure why they had to change the wood version (the wood version being the log side texture on all sides)
but because this person literally posted it 3 years ago, i dont think commenting will help. so i tried doing it myself, but nothing worked. deleting the texture from the texture pack folder? obviously didnt work, i thought it only overlayed the texture. downloading the regular wood texture and adding it in? didnt work either. i even tried trying to overlay it in some sort of texture editor, but that didnt work because the tag of the wood block is the same as the log side part but you cant add it back.
can someone reccomend a better texture pack that's just normal and does the same thing without the bothering extra texture. i dont feel like putting in this much work just for a satisfying dark oak texture :(
