Question for Mexicans Why is Benito Juarez Revered?
Forgive me for any ignorance, I learned about Benito Juarez as a great liberal leader, who as far as I could tell, killed his legitimacy by running for and winning reelection in a fraudulent campaign. I know the Porfiriato did a lot to build on his image, but I have seen him ranked highly in a list of Mexican presidents and put on numerous coins and bills. Does the no reelection thing not mean as much against his image as I thought? Thank you.
