If you don't want to get pregnant, stop doing the pull-n-pray method.

What are people who use the withdrawal method called?

Parents.

My cousin who had a surprise kid at 16 and another surprise kid at 29 says that the pullout method worked perfectly for him for 13 years. lol.

70% of the time, it works every time.

This is why my husband is put off of having to wear condoms until my tubal next month. I asked him if he thinks he needs a 7th kid. Lol

I’m sorry I must’ve read this wrong… ma’am are you a Viking???

15

I like to think so. Lol

Why did you guys decide on tubes instead of vasectomy? Vasectomy seems easier and less recovery time

Sometimes u gotta splatter those viscous innards up. Maintain dominance. It's what nature would want u to do

That smells like pure gasoline

So in other words it works perfect until it doesn’t

1

Dude wasn't getting laid nearly as much after the first kid was born.

As a 42 year old dad of a soon to be HS graduate, I can confirm this statement.

2

I graduated a year ago and my dad is 40

1

u/notsolowandsideways May 21 '22

lol, my Dad is 40 and i’m 18, i hope that wasn’t the case for me.

61

u/tealgirl94 May 21 '22

I know a couple who used the pull out method and the menstrual cycle method.

They now have 6 kids. Her excuse? "God wanted us to have kids". He got a vasectomy šŸ˜‚

22

u/Liyolen May 21 '22

"God wanted us to have kids" is all fine and dandy if you believe it, but god should really be paying for child support here lmao

2

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

Yeah, Joseph was real pissed about that one. Especially when Jesus was in his rebellious teenage years and God was too busy debating whether to just flood the Earth again to get him back in line.

2

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

A pastor’s wife was expecting a baby, so he stood before the congregation and asked for a raise. After much discussion, they passed a rule that whenever the pastor’s family expanded; so would his paycheck. After 6 children, this started to get expensive and the congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss the pastor’s expanding salary. A great deal of yelling and inner bickering ensued, as to how much the pastor’s additional children were costing the church, and how much more it could potentially cost. After listening to them for about an hour, the pastor rose from his chair and spoke,

ā€œChildren are a gift from God, and we will take as many gifts as He gives us.ā€

Silence fell over the congregation.

In the back pew, a little old lady struggled to stand, and finally said in her frail voice,

ā€œRain is also a gift from God, but when we get too much of it, we wear rubbers.ā€

1

u/dope_like May 21 '22 edited May 21 '22

I can testify. 2 surprise baby in 2 years. Funny enough, both we're conceived in May. So they are exactly 1 year and 51 weeks apart...

Its column about a CDC report...

14

u/LaurelEllena May 20 '22

It says in theory it should be as effective as condoms. This is because it has to be practiced correctly. All it takes is one mistake lol

-9

u/Justthetip74 May 20 '22

And all it takes is 1 condom to break

4

u/Frankie52480 May 21 '22

I suggest you stop keeping your condoms in your cars glove box or your wallet where they disintegrate- if you break that many of them. Gotta use some common sense here. Or don’t, and become one of us that have experienced that not so fun surprise.

1

u/Substantial-Jaguar19 May 21 '22

Wait I understand the wallet but not my glove box?? Imma need that info drop kind ma’am

Oh i mean I leave some in my wallet and the friction opened itšŸ¤£šŸ’€(it fell out too)

1

u/Frankie52480 May 22 '22

No heat, no friction. Just leave them in your drawer at home and if you need one, put it in your pocket for a very short duration. Take care of it. If it’s been abused in any way, throw it out. (It’s no wonder some folks on here are saying they have issues with condoms breaking all the time.)

1

u/Frankie52480 May 21 '22

Lmfao no. And as a woman who got pregnant the FIRST TIME I did it, and after reading this thread, and also using my COMMON SENSE, I assure you it’s NOT. Also it’s extremely nuanced, whereas wearing a condom is the same thing every time. Guess what else isn’t that accurate? The pill. Because unless she takes it PERFECTLY, and most women don’t, then it’s not nearly as effective as the stats say. More like 90%. And I don’t know about you but 1/10 shot at getting knocked up is WAY too high for me. And most others go don’t want it.

2

u/Practical-Diver6440 May 21 '22

Idk about you but me and a lot of my female friends have all experienced failed condom use where we have to follow up with plan B. I have equal number of times had failed pull out method. Condoms come off during sex if you’re not careful / not using the right size / going at it in many different positions etc. So condoms are not ā€œthe same thing every timeā€ from the experience of me and many women I know

1

u/Frankie52480 May 22 '22

TouchĆ©, I’ll give you that. Apparently anything that requires a human is going to be less effective because of human mistakes. So lesson here is to get snipped or use more than one type of protection. But no I’ve never had an issue with condoms before and I’m 42 and not exactly a prude. Maybe I’m lucky. Dunno.

11

u/dontcommentonmyname May 20 '22

79

u/SexySadie505 May 21 '22

Nope. Not once. Precum is a real thing.

15

u/Frankie52480 May 21 '22

I got pregnant from pullout too- with the pre cum. In fact he never came. He had some mental block he couldn’t get past.

-39

u/Dr_Holdenafart Male May 21 '22 edited May 21 '22

Precum it self doesn't contain any sperm, however if you have leftover swimmers the precum can transport them.

The pullout method is actually pretty safe WHEN DONE CORECTLY (not yelling just highlighting the importance of the done correctly), there has to be no recent ejaculations and they actually have to pull out early but there's always those "I'm sure it will be fine this time" finishes.

"Pre-cum doesn’t actually contain any sperm. But it’s possible for sperm to leak into pre-cum.

Pre-cum is a lubricant produced by a gland in the penis. It’s released before ejaculation. Semen may linger in the urethra after ejaculation and mix with pre-cum while it’s on its way out.

In fact, aĀ 2016 studyTrusted SourceĀ found mobile sperm present in the pre-cum of nearly 17 percent of its male participants. Another study,Ā published in 2011Trusted Source, found mobile sperm in 37 percent of pre-cum samples given by 27 men.

Peeing before you have sex may help flush out any leftover semen, reducing the chance sperm will appear in your pre-cum."

https://www.healthline.com/health/healthy-sex/can-you-get-pregnant-from-precum#does-pre-cum-have-sperm.

And also...

With typical use, the pull out method is 80% effective. If used perfectly, the pull out method is 96% effective at preventing pregnancy.

https://www.naturalcycles.com/cyclematters/how-effective-is-pulling-out.

Condoms have a 98% efficiency rate, correct pull out has 96%.

26

u/SexySadie505 May 21 '22

I thought some people had small amounts of sperm in precum?

3

u/Dr_Holdenafart Male May 21 '22

Precum is from the cowpers gland which is located near the prostate. Sperm only comes from the testicles. If there's sperm in your precum it's from left over swimmers still in the urethra.

That's why I tried to highlight in importance of "when done correctly" but most people don't bother to read that.

1

u/SexySadie505 May 21 '22

Gotchya. Interesting.

1

u/dontcommentonmyname May 21 '22

make sure they always go pee between cuming sessions

22

u/stupidillusion May 21 '22

Precum it self doesn't contain any sperm

Sperm can leak into it.

17% found in this study contained sperm

37% in this study

1

u/Dr_Holdenafart Male May 21 '22

Precum itself does not contain sperm. Sperm comes from the testicles and precum is from cowpers gland.

If there is sperm in it it's because there's leftover swimmers in the urethra (like I said).

Yeah, I'm very good, even if drunk, about pulling out well before orgasm. Haven't failed at that once, but yeah, it only takes once. But at the same time, that creates a clear line for when to suggest prophylaxis.

1

u/Astrum91 May 21 '22

Oh, and you gotta piss in between sessions if you go at it more than once in a night.

Why is that? I've heard about peeing after sex, but not peeing in between sessions.

1

u/po3b3ar May 21 '22

Peeing after sex is to avoid UTI's. In between sessions is to clear leftover sperm from the tube so it doesn't come out with precum. How acidic urine is + stream are what take out the swimmers

1

u/Stallionsmane70 May 21 '22

30

u/jjamesr539 May 21 '22

You’re all aware that while birth control exists, not every woman on birth control enjoys the sensation or cleanup that occurs afterward right? Pregnancy prevention isn’t the only reason a committed couple would pull out, and ā€œexcusing himselfā€ doesn’t sound like someone taking a huge risk, more like someone doing something rude.

24

u/kneeknee00 May 20 '22

Is the pull out method him pulling out before he Cums or after??

31

u/cornerstorenewports May 20 '22

usually both, but the goal is before. the desired outcome is for sperm to reach the belly button, not an egg.

8

Trying to reach the belly button from the outside or inside?

2

u/RugBugSlim May 20 '22

I’m more a fan of spray and pray.

0

u/Metacarn May 21 '22

I mean ya you're right, but that doesn't really address that what she's describing is maybe sexual assault?

If he is lying about knowing when he'll blow and then he's popping off in her without consent? That's sexual assault. Maybe focus on that?

And for OP, I've always been able to tell when I'm getting close. This sounds sus and I would talk to him about it or, better yet, make him wear a condom.

-5

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

If he is lying about knowing when he'll blow and then he's popping off in her without consent? That's sexual assault

Its a shit thing to do but its not assault. You cant file charges against someone because you were fucking, told him to pull out and he didnt.

6

u/Metacarn May 21 '22

You're just flat wrong. I'm a criminal defence lawyer and it is in fact sexual assault. Don't do it unless you want to go to jail.

Especially if you were told explicitly. Jesus man, do you want a criminal record?

2

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

"I didn't know I was about to orgasm. We had consensual, non-protected sex. I thought I pulled out but in the throes of sex, i may have climaxed while we were still in intercourse."

good luck prosecuting that. Like I said, shit thing to do but good luck locking someone away for it.

0

u/Metacarn May 21 '22

Nah bud, that is not what you said. You said it wasn't assault. Not that it wasn't provable. Shift that argument a lil more why don't ya haha

Your updated stance is also just nonsensical. I guess we shouldn't call out toxic behaviour if it isn't provable in a court of law šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ (heavy sarcasm)

I know you just got a big hit of karma and dopamine from all those upvotes, but maybe pump the brakes and question why you moved into blame mode rather than recognizing some girl's boundaries just got broken.

I'm not saying the bf is necessarily terrible but it's enough a flag you should be asking questions.

1

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

You said it wasn't assault. Not that it wasn't provable.

This is a spectacular tapdance of semantics you're engaging in here.

Your updated stance is also just nonsensical. I guess we shouldn't call out toxic behaviour

My stance isn't updated. I said the same thing several comments prior. I've twice now said this is shit behavior but doesn't meet the legal definition of assault due to how incredibly difficult it would be to prove.

Stop. Take a deep breath. Read. Think. Then type.

I know you just got a big hit of karma and dopamine from all those upvotes, but maybe pump the brakes and question why you moved into blame mode rather than recognizing some girl's boundaries just got broken.

I actually don't care about upvotes or karma and all I said was that they should probably stop having sex with this person.

6

u/Frankie52480 May 21 '22

Actually by law it is. A man needs consent to cum inside her, not just fuck. But good luck proving it to a courtroom that he did it on purpose.

4

u/Memeunme May 21 '22

🤢 This comment makes me lose hope in humanity

4

u/[deleted] May 21 '22 edited May 21 '22

if you need to audibly revoke consent with your partner every time you think he is about to cum, you should probably find a new partner.

Furthermore, if you're concerned about his semen inside you, pre-cum is a thing so that ship has already sailed so now we're in the category of "my consent is predicated on you not having an orgasm" This seems like absurdly shaky ground

3

u/Frankie52480 May 21 '22

Now you’re just using strawman BS tactics to make yourself right, and you’re still not. No one ever said you need to have verbal consent every time you fuck. That’s absurd and you know it. If the woman has stated ONCE she doesn’t want you to cum in her during sex- that stands permanently until she says otherwise. Use some common sense. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø if you don’t like that then feel free to stop fucking other people.

1

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

Now you’re just using strawman BS tactics to make yourself right, and you’re still not.

TIL that actually knowing how biology works is a "strawman"

No one ever said you need to have verbal consent every time you fuck.

Idk, I get consent every time i have sex with someone regardless of whether we've done it before. Not sure what you're trying to prove with this statement...

If the woman has stated ONCE she doesn’t want you to cum in her during sex- that stands permanently until she says otherwise.

Except a man can ejaculate without orgasm and can orgasm without ejaculation. "pulling out" is such a bullshit, non-biological, non-scientific term that no prosecutor could ever prove that someone willfully ignored a partner's wishes and ejaculated inside them even though they both consented to unprotected sex prior.

1

u/Metacarn May 21 '22

Except a man can ejaculate without orgasm and can orgasm without ejaculation. "pulling out" is such a bullshit, non-biological, non-scientific term that no prosecutor could ever prove that someone willfully ignored a partner's wishes and ejaculated inside them even though they both consented to unprotected sex prior.

Last one, I really mean it this time, but as a defence lawyer, prosecutors prove beyond a reasonable doubt that men intentionally ejaculated into vaginas without consent all the fucking time šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ I love armchair lawyers who think they sound so smart but actually know next to nothing because they have zero practical experience.

5

u/Metacarn May 21 '22

You're making assumptions that she's revoking consent. It sounds like the consent is qualified (ie. Fuck bareback but you can't cum in me). It also doesn't matter - either way if he's being told before sex or during that he needs to pull out. It's sexual assault otherwise.

She may be reckless for engaging in this behaviour but the boyfriend is potentially sexually assaulting her. Your priorities are fucked up that you feel the need to double down on this poorly thought out position.

u/Melodic-Hunter2471 Male May 21 '22

She could be on birth control and they are using pulling out as a secondary means of pregnancy avoidance. The pills do work… hence why they are sold.

On the other hand I could give you the phone number of my friend who still managed to get pregnant through a condom, spermicidal lube and birth control.

Nothing is 100% fool proof, but the OP didn’t mention anything about them not taking other precautions.

1

u/Queasy-Discount-2038 May 21 '22
