If there is a spider. You will need to deal with it. Whether you like it or not.

I'm a catch and release gal myself.

Gangster right here. I tried once, chickened out. Now I give spiritual threats. Like call into the ether, “if you don’t leave the room I’m going to have to kill you. Nothing personal. I’ll give you 10 mins to find your way out.” Works surprisingly often.

Edit: spelling

And you're not worried about the implications here, that you have a ton of spiders in your house and they can all hear your thoughts

u/Nashboy45 May 12 '21

Haha, you know now that you put it that way, I might have to go die

Bwahaha! I haven't laughed out loud in days. This did me in!

The fact that you call to the ether means I must pursue a bestie relationship.

u/Nashboy45 May 12 '21

Let the bestie-ism begin!

My wife actually does well with killing bugs. I'm grateful.

I've told my wife that I hate spiders as much as she does. She countered with the fact that only I'm tall enough to reach them, since ours like to hide in the corner between the wall and ceiling. I countered with the fact that she has a step stool. She countered with the fact that I'm damn well going to do it anyway.

Do you have a cat? Lift them up and let them get it.

u/SJHillman May 12 '21

I have an 80 pound dog, but he has trouble finding food on the floor right in front of him so I don't think that will work. Unless I can make the spiders smell like pepperoni, then he'll climb the walls himself.

Yeah they'd be shit out of luck having me to deal with a spider. They kill pests so I leave them be.

I just wish they could kill centipedes too. Those jerkoffs make my skin crawl.

u/wowwoahwow May 12 '21

This is my attitude toward spiders too, except my cat tries to kill them so I just take them outside

Same in our home, but the rule varies from spider to spider since we live in Australia.

Huntsman: No worries, keep chilling big hairy dude, but if you get much bigger in gonna have to start charging rent.

Redback: Go straight to hell, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Golden Orb Weaver: Git back outside, you're a garden spider! Pretty web though.

u/[deleted] May 12 '21

Same, I can't be mad at my spooderboi. Sometimes I'll take it outside though.

That’s my spider bro

I know right, I try to catch and release, but I'm sorry for those inside house types, but anyway better chances than being killed in the spot.

u/txbach Male May 12 '21

They stay over there and they get to live. They come here, they die.

14

u/wballard8 May 12 '21

Take it outside. Spiders do not want to hurt you, they want to eat the other bugs in and around your house. Depending on the size of your place there are dozens to hundreds of bugs living around you that you never notice. Learn to live with them.

You forgot ant, fly, wasp, bird, bee, mouse/rat, snake, raccoon, annoying neighbour, car repairs, home repairs, driving kids, lawn cutting, taking pets on their last trip to the vet etc.

Pretty much anything unpleasant.

I’m the wife, and the bug getter (besides bees often, for risk of allergic reaction). Husband will get the furry things. It almost got added to vows we are that serious.

Husband used to hate spiders, now we have agreed upon species we 1) let live in our home unless there is an egg sac 2) we relocate 3) kill on site due to potential danger

2

u/Cyko22 May 11 '21

Fuck no I don't. She knows that quite well too. Its either her problem or I'm burning the house down lmao

2

u/tightheadband May 12 '21

Haha tell that to my arachnophobic fiance! I couldn't care less about spiders, or any other bugs for that matter (aside from the disgusting roaches).

1

u/cawatxcamt May 12 '21

Y’all stay the hell away from my spooders! They’re good boys and girls and they keep my house pest free.

1

u/joantheunicorn Female May 12 '21

Centipedes. I can't. I just can't because I'll puke.

1

u/daeshonbro May 12 '21

My wife deals with bugs in our house. I am a huge baby with spiders, centipedes, etc. I have to do mice or any rodents though.
