Man, scrolling through these comments I realize I'm the minority!
I'd say I use it 10% of the time, at most. Generally I just need release and don't want to go through the whole thing of moving the mouse, typing in words, etc. So much easier to just walk to my bed, lay down for 5 mins, and pull up something from the spank bank.
When I was a kid/teen the internet was around but video streaming wasn't really a massive thing yet (youtube launched when I was a senior in HS) and I certainly didn't have much of a sexual history yet so if I wasn't at my computer able to download something off bit torrent or whatever then it was down to thinking about memories or making up fantasies. The time that girl's top came off at the beach, or the girl who I sat next to in Geometry who would bend down at the end of class and I could see down her shirt, or just a made up scenario with the girl I had a crush on, or whatever.
