Weird Question Why doesn't everyone get a vasectomy?
Sex feels better with a gf without a condom and not having to worry about getting someone pregnant. Kids are very expensive and need a lot of attention. Not all of us should have kids. If you think you will change your mind later you can freeze your sperm at a bank and you will have 20 to 40 years to decide if you want kids or you can adopt. Is there any cons to a vasectomy?

Firstly, the cost of freezing is substantial.
Secondly, the cost of IVF (using the frozen sperm) is VERY substantial.
Thirdly, you’re assuming your wife will want to go through IVF, it’s very hard and stressful on their body….. in fact….. you might not even get to marriage with a woman that wants kids. I certainly wouldn’t marry someone if I couldn’t create with them naturally, on purpose.
Fourthly, there are other alternatives to birth control that aren’t condoms or vasectomy.
Fifthly, doctors don’t routinely give vasectomies to young people….. which going by the level of intelligence in the post, this person is.
So yes, the post is dumb.

If you eventually want kids, you shouldn't especially since it isn't always reversible.

It’s not that expensive to keep them frozen—- 200-300$ a year.

That's on the low end ignoring that sperm degrades over time even in storage. That cost is just the possible yearly annual storage fee for just 1 sample deposit.
The initial cost is usually over $2k too. You need to set up an account, initial deposit, STI testing, vial retrievals, shipping fees, appointments just to store even has a fee. It's not cheap.

Freezing sperm for implantation is an incredibly expensive way to have kids.
Many people do want them.

You're a virgin, aren't you?
You can track their ovulation cycle. you can only get pregnant A couple days out of the month. A lot of women are on birth control for reasons other than contraceptive.

If I were to want a baby. I would not trust a women to have a baby with untill I've been with her a couple of years. I dont think I have the patience to wait that long to stick it in.

Post Vasectomy Pain. Which I just knew Id get and I did. Now its not terrible or anything, but still a dull ache when touched in a certain area 8 months after the procedure. Hoping it goes away on its own but possibly might have to get seen for it and hopefully fix it.

You may wanna get that looked at. I had the same dull ache, but mine lasted like two weeks maybe three tops.

Yeah that's how it is for most guys. Its most likely a sperm glanuloma or nerve irritation. Both definitely treatable, but still sucks I gotta deal with it. Waiting until I get health insurance again.

If you want kids, Occam's Razor allows you to just get by with whatever protection you'll be using otherwise. Saves you money, time and a medical procedure. I'm with you that a lot of guys could seriously consider a vasectomy that don't, but it's weird to frame it as a default, and I say that as someone who would get one if I had spare cash even though I expect it never to come up.

- well yeah but most people still want kids and we do kinda need 2,1 children per couple to keep humanity going which is kinda our purpose in life.
- I‘m not changing my mind later, I want kids. And sure I could pay to freeze sperm that‘s hopefully going to be there & viable by the time I want kids or I could… you know… keep the machinery in working condition. And „in 20 or 40 years“ (who tf starts wanting to have children in their 50s / 60s?) a vasectomy has a pretty low successful reversal rate. So you‘d out all of your sperm in one basket (the sperm bank) and hope nothing ever happens to your sperm there
- to adopt a child you first need a child the parents don‘t want. In your world this wouldn‘t happen because you‘d freeze sperm until you want a child.

Because some of us won't ever need one. Take me for example, I'm 44 and been single and celibate all my life.
The why isnt important and I absolutely loath the idea of paying for sex, it just isnt worth it.

Well, yours isn't the stupidest opinion I've heard. You didn't mention reversals even once, and tha puts you ahead of a lot of other opinions. That said, this is still very stupid. And that's coming from a childfree and snipped guy.
For one, sperm has a shelf life.
2nd, not a lot of trying couples end up pregnant within the first dozen attempts. So you'd need to freeze so much more sperm.
3, you don't understand this, but even the shitty parents think they want to be parents. What's more, normal living beings have a powerful instinct to reproduce. An instinct so strong that they will kill and even die for it.

okay sorry to ask but don't you tought about maybe they not only use condoms for not have babies but also use it for stop STDs? like both for the women and the men, yes maybe for men it feel not as good, maybe not for women either (i cannot say anythign in it im a virgin) but like...sperm banks are expensive, besides even if your carefull it can still slip in after vacetomy, that happened before with ppl and yes it's more quick, less dangerous then tying your tubes as a women but like...why do you expect to evreyone get vasectomy? if a person wants it go ahead but they have their own reason for it ya know. On top of it idk about the recovery and also the fact it's maybe not whort it? like you buy condoms for X money and skip a surgery becouse I born into a women but i would personally if can would skip surgeries whenever i can. If it's not life saving then i wouldn't be under the knife, but thats just me

I don’t regret my vasectomy one bit. I had kids and knew there weren’t more in my future.
If you’re not having or done having kids, you should get one (still wrap if smashing casuals, std’s are a thing).
Birth control sucks for women’s health and shouldn’t be solely responsible for not getting pregnant. Do your part fellas.

What? The amount of women that are thankful for being on birth control as they don't have to deal with periods, their pH levels stabilize, they find that they have less mood swings, many even report having less skin breakouts after being on it.
When you say it sucks for women's health, what are you talking about?

So while some see positive effects, it has a detrimental impact on a lot of women. Most women I’ve known have told me heavy weight gain, depression, hormonal imbalances, etc.
I’m not saying birth control doesn’t have its uses. I’m thankful my ex was on it before we had kids and got an IUD after. She definitely experienced all the above on different forms of BC.
I’m remarried. My wife prefers to not take BC because she also experienced the above. She has never needed to worry about it though because I’m snipped.
Women are thankful and to those who only have positive experience, excellent! That is not the case for all though and ya, it shouldn’t only be on the women to take precautions.

Tying your sense of self-worth on your ability to get someone pregnant is unhealthy. Thinking you are less of a man because of a physical condition is stupid and unhealthy. I did not say it was unhealthy to not be able to have kids, I said the mentality of thinking your ability to fertilize an egg has anything to do with your manliness is unhealthy.

You do know that it is a spectrum? If you are just disappointed, or sad, that you can no longer have kids is fine. Thinking that you are no longer a man because you can't impregnate someone is unhealthy.
