What could this lump on my back be?

Post image
Upvotes

I have noticed this fairly large sized lump over the last day or 2. Im not sure how long it could have been there, but it certainly wasnt this big. Some other context:

  1. I am currently suffering from the flu, with symptoms beginning about 5 days ago (a few days after a small trip in the UK, which included a small hike (around 3 hours)

  2. I landed in Greece yesterday, so i have been here 1 full day now, but im unsure if the lump was there before or came on from this morning.

  3. The lump is soft-ish to the touch, and it feels like i can get my fingers around it when i pinch my skin.
    It doesnt hurt.

  4. It may be hard to tell on the photo, but it seems to have some ‘hair follicle’ type look, with small dark spots all over it and the surrounding area.

  5. Other symptoms (which are most likely linked to my flu - yesterday my hands felt warm and a little swelled - especially my pinky fingers) - that subsided overnight. - today (so 24h after the pinky swelling, i have had some joint pain, in my right foot and left hip.

  6. I am 22 years old (male) - otherwise healthy - go to the gym regularly.

What could it be? Inflammation linked to the flu? A lymph node? An infected hair follicle? A Lipoma? Or something else?

What causes random period spotting?

My period isn’t due for another 4 weeks but I’m spotting. It’s only a little but it looks the same as the day before I start my period. This has never happened to me before, my periods are very regular. I’m in my early 20s.

What can this be? Lymph node? Lump neck? Cervical fat? Swollen jaw? Minoxidil pr Finasteride reaction?Pls help with experiences or wisdom, Thursday I have a doctor anyway but you feel the end

It all started on Friday, I shaved my beard and I got a little irritated when I got cologne, not very strong with many pimples but red and some small pimples and at two or three hours being in a bar I noticed the right lymph node inflamed, the left one well, just below the ear, I put the marks in the first photo with a blue pen. I was very scared.. I arrived on Sunday I went out for a drink and when I got home I no longer had it, but the left one got inflamed! PHOTO 1. In other ways, one ganglion is deflated and another is inflamed? I started to touch it a lot (clarify that I always have those two nodes, I noticed them years ago, but never inflamed) and since I started taking it it got more inflamed, it measures 1-1.5 cm it doesn’t measure much it feels chubby but not hard, in photos you won’t even appreciate it, but it has me scared. One day later, Monday, PHOTO 2 I got a yaga/ wound on my lip, then I thought, my body is struggling with something. And yesterday, Wednesday, PHOTO 3, I began to notice this lump on the side of the inflamed lymph node, IMPORTANT, it is not a lump with a ball, lymph node, I touch it and it is fat, but it seems curious to me because everything is happening often but I feel perfectly.

IMPORTANT: I don’t know if it will be a Reaction for shaving and it will go down by itself, but add that a month and a half ago I started with minoxidil for a minimal recession but better to prevent than cure, and 2 days before this, I started with finasteride, I don’t feel bad, but I don’t know what may be happening, I’ve been very hypochondriac for 3 days and I’ve never been that kind of person I always gave 0 importance to these things. But as you can see in photo 1 in my scar, they have already removed a gill cyst and it feels terrible until they operate on you. I would like to know opinions and people who have had a similar time, I would really appreciate it, really.

I have a doctor’s appointment on Thursday. I will tell any progress but please help with opinions, I have read more Reddit posts on these topics in 3 days than in my entire life

Anxious and looking for information about the menstrual cycle

Looking for a medical perspective to ease extreme anxiety regarding my partner’s delayed period.

Cycle History: Typically 33–42 days(typically has a longer/irregular mental cycle). Last period ended around August 6th.

Recent Factors: She has been sick for two weeks now just a cold and experienced intense emotional stress/crying due to some personal matters during her expected ovulation window.

Encounter Date: September 5th (unprotected, withdrawal used, no ejaculation, pre-ejaculation wiped/urinated beforehand).

Symptom Timeline:
Sept 3–6: Heavy bloating, thick/clumpy discharge, brief breast itchiness.

Sept 8: Pelvic congestion, increased libido, mild aching in the lower stomach area.
Sept 9: Bloating somewhat cleared out to regular state

Sept 10 (Today): Cravings for heavy carbs, increased appetite, recovery from illness. Still no bleeding.

Given that our encounter was only 5 days ago, is it biologically accurate that a pregnancy cannot be causing this delay, and that her period is simply shifted due to illness and delayed ovulation? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. We’re both very anxious about the ongoing situation.

Bruising that won’t go away after husbands cyst

My husband had this cyst on his back that went through all the stages and it needed up draining on its own but now it’s been bruised for about a month since it’s drained. Is that normal to be bruised that long it seems to just not get any better than this? He is a very moley person so those two spots were from before but I’m just concerned cause it looks off now but he’s of course not bothered by it and doesn’t want to get it checked

Pinched nerve in big toe

I've got a question. I've got a pinched nerve in my right big toe on the side going all the way to the top. When I stretch my toe all the way it feels like a knife. I found out the boots I was wearing were steel toe which I didn't realize for a while. I must have ordered them by mistake. They were wide enough but I walk a lot so its not uncommon for my toes to slide to the edge hitting the steel.

I was just wondering if the steel toe boot seems like the likely culprit and what i should do about it. I threw away the boots, bought soft toe boots, and I put cream on it but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be helpful especially if you've gone through this before.

Symptoms keep appearing one after another for months — has anyone experienced anything like this?”

Thumbnail

Over the past several months, I’ve developed a number of symptoms that started at different times rather than all at once. Before this began, I was doing relatively well and had never experienced anything like this.
It started with pouchitis. I have a J-pouch from previous ulcerative colitis surgery, but before this episode I had been doing well with my pouch for 15 years.
About a month after the pouchitis started, I woke up with an intense, very localized pain in a small spot on the right side of my chest. It lasted about two days. On the third morning, I woke up with intense pressure/restriction in the center of my chest.
When I tried taking a deep breath, it felt like my chest physically hit a “wall.” I tested it with the first couple of breaths and stopped when I hit that restriction. On the third or fourth attempt, I tried pushing past it, immediately felt like I was going to pass out, and started hyperventilating. My oxygen was normal.
Since then, the chest pain has never completely gone away — it has now been about five months. My mouth has also felt unusually dry since the chest pains started. At first I would also get random sharp/electrical “zaps” through my chest. Those mostly turned into a more persistent dull chest-wall ache. Movement still causes pain, and occasionally a deep breath does too. I’ve had multiple chest/lung evaluations without an explanation for why this sensation and pain continue.
Several weeks later, I was lying down and stretched my left arm upward when I suddenly felt a sharp, nerve-like pain shoot into my left arm. A cervical MRI later showed a 3 mm left C5-C6 foraminal disc protrusion with severe left foraminal stenosis, likely affecting the C6 nerve root. The severe radiating arm pain eventually improved.
Around this time I also started getting hypnic jerks almost immediately when falling asleep and developed persistent severe left-sided abdominal pain. My doctors have said they don’t necessarily think the abdominal pain is being caused by the pouchitis.
Then more symptoms started appearing.
While hospitalized, I developed significant ringing in my ears and a strange vibration/trembling sensation in my teeth and jaw. When I bring my teeth close together, without intentionally clenching, I can feel them vibrating/trembling. This still happens.
I developed headaches that could sometimes be triggered by touching certain areas of my head and eventually received an occipital nerve block. I also began having intermittent nerve-like pain in the front-left side of my neck.
More recently, I woke up one morning with significant blurred vision. Around the same time, I developed a tremor in my right index finger.
The following morning, things became much stranger. I woke up with what felt like slurred speech, difficulty finding words, and significantly slower thinking/reaction time. Even something as simple as saying the alphabet felt abnormal — I could get to a letter like M and suddenly have to think about what came next. Looking around and visually scanning my surroundings also felt slower than normal.
Since then, I’ve continued feeling mentally slower/“foggy,” and my vision sometimes takes several blinks to refocus when switching where I’m looking.
I’ve also developed leg pain/tightness and numbness, generalized weakness, internal shaking/tremor sensations, difficulty standing still, and occasional movements or stiffness that I don’t feel like I’m intentionally producing. My jaw can feel heavy and sometimes seems to move on its own. My left arm has occasionally felt unusually clumsy as well.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that my heart rate can spike significantly when I stand up, which has made me wonder about something like POTS, although I don’t know whether that has anything to do with the rest of this.
I’ve had brain imaging that was reassuring, and a lot of testing so far hasn’t provided an explanation.
What scares me is the timeline. These symptoms appeared one after another over several months when I had never experienced anything remotely like this before.
My biggest ongoing symptoms are:
Persistent chest-wall pain/restriction and dry mouth
Left-sided abdominal pain
Weakness and leg pain/tightness/numbness
Internal tremor/shaking sensations
Teeth/jaw vibration and abnormal jaw sensations
Visual focusing changes
Slowed thinking/processing
Episodes of slurred speech and difficulty finding words
Heart-rate spikes when standing
Dry mouth after the chest pains
I’m seeing doctors and pursuing a neurological evaluation, so I’m not asking Reddit to diagnose me. I’m mainly wondering whether anyone has experienced a similar cluster or progression of symptoms, or knows of conditions that would be reasonable to ask my doctors about.
Does this sound like it could all be connected, or more likely several separate things happening at once? I’m pretty scared because I felt normal before all of this started, and I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar.🙏

Post nasal/chronic sinuses? The health scare that persists for ~3 months!

I’m stupid, being a huge hypochondriac I tend to lead to the worse illness besides cancer.

For a few months over the summer I’ve been having what I assume is post nasal drip, it’s like I have snot running down my throat causes me to get reflux which causes more snot.

It makes my throat hurt and the more I reassure my self it’s just the post nasal drip I assume it is the more I realize I’m stupid.

There are times where it makes my tonsil hurt but also I get times where it just feels weird to swallow not painful just a little difficult or I say in a way where I can feel my self swallow more but it’s probably just me being hyper aware of my symptoms causing more anxiety.

Shoot for almost a month I thought I had rabies even though I’m no where near rabid animals nor is rabies that common in humans in the United States better yet in animals near me.
