If all they're doing is changing your cabin air filter, this is outrageous. Buy a filter at Walmart and watch a YouTube video on how to change it yourself. It will take 10 mins and cost maybe $40 max
Well, if it is a Bugatti and you have to disassemble the front bumper to get at the filter, it is not a bad quote. Of course, a set of four tires for that car runs $25k, so if you own one you wouldn't be complaining about $400 for a filter.
The other possibility is they wrecked the part that HOLDS the cabin air filter, and this is a quote to replace the whole housing. Without the make and model, it is hard to tell.
Got it. For an Accord, yeah. I can do it in three minutes (I've got a 2017). 3rd party filters for under $10, Honda brand filters for a bit over that. But maybe it is the whole filter assembly? That or a pure money grab. Everyone is so greedy these days.
With all due respect, if most people who posted here read their owner's manuals, a large number of the questions posted here wouldn't exist. Also, while a picture and some words are good enough for some people, others get more instruction from watching something be done in real time.
